Between A&M and Bama,LSU may not get any instate recruits.

Is he going to have time for football in between filming episodes of Curb?

In all seriousness and back to the subject matter, I'm looking forward to watching Speedy's recruitment play out. Either team will be lucky to get him.
I believe this will be a common occorunce; seeing LSU and A&M grinding it out for blue chip recruits from both TX and LA. Lookin forward to future recruiting battles

Definitely moreso on offensive recruits in Louisiana and defensive players in TX. We have the edge on some of the TX dbs because of our track record and past recruiting success there. Yall will continue to be an option for our Offensive recruits until we prove that we are progressing on that side of the ball, which I believe whole heartedly will happen this season and put many of these offensive Louisiana recruits worries at ease.
Nola will always be difficult for yall either way because of Frank Wilsons recruiting reputation there.
I would much prefer them playing under Sumlin than Saban, however

And ftr, I may be misunderstanding, but it seems as though you and A&M folks had your head in the sand for quite awhile (for the obvious reason that A&M was terribly mediocre to below average for 10 or more years), and now that you finally have reason to poke your heads out you just now realize Louisiana has great talent, and just because it's so close, and you've got a couple of guys while your head was stuck in the sand, that it somehow means you are a serious player. Well if Alabama after 3 out of 4 MNC is barely getting 1 guy a year out of the state, what does that mean for A&M who has yet to even equal Bama's success in any given season out of the last 5 years?
Yes, I see you guys laughing on TexAgs about James Smith predicting every guy to LSU. Well when you look at the hard facts and history, what would you say? You'd be an idiot to say they AREN'T going to LSU.
A&M has a lot of ground to cover on the gridiron. It takes time to create a reputation. There are plenty of one-hit wonder seasons across CFB, but it takes more than that to expect all these returns you've already assumed for yourselves.
A&M isn't likely to get any blue chip recruits until they can definitively show they are a far better option in terms of winning AND getting to the NFL. Of the best Louisiana players to leave the state, they have almost always only gone to schools that are very powerful in terms of winning and putting guys in the league, and usually are a very attractive option in terms of location. LSU will be serious players for lots of guys in Texas not only because they have a proven track record for signing those guys, but because they have put those guys signed into the league.
Joe Addai-Houston TX
Danny McCray-Houston TX
Michael Brockers-Houston TX
Matt Flynn-Tyler TX
Brandon LaFell-Houston TX
Russell Shepard-Houston TX (signed with Philly)
This year could be...
Craig Loston-Houston TX
Listed below are the Louisiana top players from Rivals up to 2010 when 247 took over for LA recruiting, and then 2010 on 247 only lists 7 guys. Anyways, find me significant recruits that LSU offered and were really interested in that left the state and did very well? Almost none. Does that mean it will always happen in the future? No, but LSU gives them everything and more in terms of football support, and they get to have their families nearby on top of it. Also something that you may not think about is the fact that many of these players coming out of high school actually have their own kids.....
Jai Eugene was a top DB that committed to Michigan at the Army AA bowl knowing good and well he has several kids in LA who need him...well how much damn sense does it make to pick up and move to Michigan? He couldn't focus on football unless he uprooted his family and more to help him support the kids. Even Reuben Foster was vocal about taking care of his kid. You think he ever had any intention of leaving the state of Alabama? His family and gf are there to take care of his kid while he does his football thing to get to the league. It's obviously his best chance.
Top LA natives don't leave the state often

It would be easier to list those who didn't to go LSU from the Rivals100 since the rankings began with the Class of 2002.
Of the 10 players who did not end up staying home, four of them did so in 2002-03. Since the program has been revitalized under Nick Saban and then Les Miles, players are not as inclined to look elsewhere.
The two most comparable classes to this version are the class of 2011 and the class of 2007. Each year had multiple five-star players, as well as at least five members of the Rivals100.
The class of 2011 was headlined by La'El Collins at No. 6, Anthony Johnson at No. 17, and Jarvis Landry at No. 18 -- all three chose LSU. The four-stars in the group were Odell Beckham Jr. at No. 43, Kenny Hilliard at No. 63, and Greg Robinson at No. 90.
Robinson elected to go to Auburn the year after his teammate Trovon Reed also left Louisiana.
quote:
The class of 2007 had Joe McKnight as the No. 2 player in the Rivals100 and he chose to sign with USC.
The rest of the class elected to stay with the in-state power. Chad Jones was the No. 14 player in the country and a five-star. DeAngelo Benton was at No. 41, Stefoin Francois at No. 63 and Drake Nevis at No. 93.
One of the few significant prospects to leave the state since 2006 was Janzen Jackson, who was scheduled to sign with LSU before flipping for Lane Kiffin and Tennessee in the class of 2009. Jackson was kicked off the Tennessee football team in 2011 and was cut by the New York Giants after signing as a free agent.
The class of 2013 had three players in the Rivals100 from Louisiana. All three signed with LSU.
"We were able to bring the guys we started with to the finish line," Wilson said. "Many of them committed to us a year ago."
