not mad or crying just pointing out that was the difference in the recruitment if that's a meltdown then I'm in full melt mode. Great rb's come out every cycle so there's really nothing to have a meltdown over.

Is UT looking to use Hurd at other positions besides RB?

Only asking because a friend of mine coaches at Scott's HS and he said Scott was told he was the #1 RB in UT's class and that Scott was also told Hurd was recruited as an athlete and could end up playing either side of the ball. Makes sense since UA was looking at Hurd as a DB. Again why I was asking because I thought Hurd was only going to be used as a RB for UT.

I'm pretty sure a big part of Hurd coming here was a promise that he would get a lot of snaps at RB

Are both Hurd and Scott going to get more snaps than returning Sr Starter Marlin Lane? Did something happen to him with an injury or something?

Too early to tell. Anything more than that is conjecture.

Not to my knowledge. Hurd just did a segment on TSR saying he will with out a doubt be playing RB at UT. The pay sites that are always at the facilities are echoing that statement as well. From what they've been saying Hurd will be the bruiser and Scott will be the change of pace back. Once Hurd hits his stride he looks faster then Scott and sheds the tackles where as Scott has that elite quick first step as he hits his stride but isn't a burner. IMO going into next year the 2 deep will be 1. Lane and 2. Hurd then once Lane graduates after the season it'll be Hurd and Scott going forward.

Hurd and Scott's ceilings are way higher than Lane's. Lane will probably get the nod to start, just due to his experience, but expect to seee Hurd and Scott get solid playing time at RB.

Congrats to Tenn. Lets not get carried away. All spurrier had to do was lie his arse off like Jones and promise Scott immediate playing time which he didn't and that was the difference but congrats

He said Scott was concerned about depth which apparently was being pointed out to him by another school and that in CBJ offense touches will be limited for a RB and that Hurd was top choice. He said when the UT staff visited they told him that Hurd was an athlete but they hoped Hurd would end up as a RB. They were selling him and Hurd and Gurley and Marshall.

So they were able to debunk the negative recruiting and for the record the staff at his HS are excited for him going to UT.

I also think this may play out like the 2 at UGA. Marhsall came in higher rated with Gurley and the #2 for expectations, but it is Gurley than Marshall. I could see the same for Scott being the star even though Hurd comes in with all the talk.

Lane will likely get the nod just because he's a senior with experience but I don't think anyone would be surprised if Hurd/Scott were to pass him through the season. There will be plenty of carries available in Knoxville.
