Mississippi State now possibly has two elite corners. Next year could be one of our better defenses ever if Arnett keeps up.

We're calling a back up corner that couldn't start in the Big 12 an elite corner now?

He's slow which is why he never saw the field at Texas. Maybe if he played safety?

He will probably excel at safety given enough time

I said possibly. He will have far better coaching in Starkville that's for sure

Probably a good move. I'm not hating on it, just seems like some serious hyperbole from some.

I mean, LSU won a natty with a QB that couldn’t beat out Dwayne Haskins, so yes.

5 star and the number one recruit out of Texas in 2018, per 247. Will play Safety for us. Great job by Washington

Haskins threw for 4800 yards and 50 TDs and finished 3rd for the Heisman.

Yes he did. The point is that schools like Ohio State and Texas recruit multiples of those highly rated of players. Just because he didn’t start doesn’t mean he wasn’t an elite prospect.

Fair, but tu didn’t have an elite player in front of him. Their defense was nothing special. They just fired their coaching staff. This time isn’t the same situation at all. However, he was very highly thought of in HS 3 years ago.

Good pickup. Hopefully Zach Arnett can help him sort out whatever issues he had at Texas that kept him from seeing meaningful playing time there. Will also concede that Texas has a massive problem developing talent so that could also have been the issue.

Texas never had a recruiting problem. It’s always been coaching and developing the talent.

Or recruiting services over hype players going to Texas. At any rate you never know, some players excel under different coaching styles/schemes. Good pickup!
