Arik Gilbert (via text) after he and his mom attended the Bama vs Duke game: "I really liked the way they used their tight ends today. 2 TDs from the TEs!"

But I thought he wanted to split out wide.

Tennessee was the first school to sell him on that. Now he’s not sure if he should listen to a coach that got boat-raced by GSU.

Bama uses TEs in-line, in the H-spot and flexed wide as a big WR, and shifts/motions them too. Passing to TEs is a significant part of Bama's offensive production. Gibert is an ideal fit as a TE/(big)WR at Bama. He really likes the film he's seen of Irv Smith and OJ Howard, as well as what he saw on Sat.

I have a hard time not seeing him at Bama. He’s perfect for their scheme. Unless all his Mayretta teammates pull him to UT.

Lol his Marietta teammates are going to tell Pruitt to frick off as well

I doubt it. They probably see immediate playing time.

As I expect you know, Arik Gilbert is pretty smart. Playing with HS teammates at the same college could be fun, but for such an important decision, I doubt that's going to influence his decision nearly as much as other more important factors will. Besides, it seems like his teamates could now be having pretty serious 2nd thoughts about the Vols.

No chance Pruitt will be coaching VOLS next season.

I don’t think we’re a serious player yet but if we land Gilbert with our current WRs that has to be one of the highest rated receiver hauls ever.

Might be why weve gotten the ball to thadeus moss the past 2 games.
