That is this year, but you will have a different OC by the time Gilbert plays his first college rep. It is the Bama/Saban way. lol

Pretty sure that's a compliment. Saban gets new OCs because his prior ones gets hired away which means they do a good job.

Either Bama or Clemson. While we would LOVE to have him, having Jalen Wydermyer and Baylor Cupp as the starting tight ends in 2020, 2021 and maybe 2022 as well is an acceptable consolation prize.

Tim Watts, Kipp Adams and Rusty Mansell just CB'd him to Alabama.

Longtime recruiting expert says it's Bama in interview today. FWIW, but this guy is long time guru, fwiw again. The commitment of Bryce Young has only helped. If Gilbert were to go elsewhere then much egg on guru's face as he went all in link below.

I dont get why we are in his top 10? Did he even visit A&M?

Texas A&M Aggies
Confidence Level: Low

“Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher has a history of using his tight ends extensively with multiple All-American performers at the position. That at least piqued the interest of Gilbert. Though it was always going to be tough to pull a five-star out of the middle of SEC territory, the Aggies got him on campus for an unofficial visit in the spring and then again for an official in the fall. Both trips seemingly went well, but Gilbert is still a longshot at best as he seems likely to stay much closer to him.” – Brian Perroni, Gigem247

Think he’s definitely Bama bound. The only hesitancy is the amount of players Tennessee has had commit to them in the last 24-48 hours.

Not sure if that’s a build up to Gilbert or a way to lessen the (somewhat minor) blow of not getting him. Could also be coincidental.

And he'll get it. As he should.
