Damn, congrats to Jim Chaney for getting 3 of those nobodies drafted

I don’t hate on Chaney as much as everyone else. He had his flaws, and I don’t think he’s worth $1.5 million, but he did a fine job at Georgia.

But you know you’re speaking out of both sides of your mouth right now, right?

Considering Georgia has 1 (one) 1,000 reciever, id say there’s more than one OC who hasn’t been able to utilize WRs at Georgia.

1000 Yard WRs...let's look at that.

AJ Green at UGA would have had two 1000 yard seasons if not for an injury in one and and a suspension the next.

AU fans noted in the thread about this in the SECRant
that Ronny Daniels had a 250 yard night against UGA in the late 90's or he wouldn't have got 1000. It's not the ultimate measuring stick for WR success.

Furthermore, players don't give a shite about stats. What they do give a shite about about is getting to the league which is something Kirby can sell right now.

Learn the game, fella.

Yeah fella, like I said, 1 1,000 reciever ever. No need for a paragraph to agree with me

Same way Georgia signs 5* WRs every year despite having 1 1,000 in the history of Georgia football.

Or the way Georgia continue to sign elite offensive talent when your new OC is the guy who wasn’t allowed to call plays at FSU, and who got fired from Miami, the one job he’s been able to call plays.

Same shite we heard from everyone when Kirby hired Chaney, Now Chaney's a huge loss.

Kirby would have Mizzou in the top 15 classes every year.

Highly doubtful

While I agree with your overall observation (that there are ways to sell a kid on a school) I would like to address a point or two about the OC.

Very few coaches can say they have never been fired.
And just because he may not have been allowed to call plays at FSU means nothing....if it is true. Probably very few coaches are allowed to have free reign in their first gig.

I think most georgia fans are a little apprehensive about going into the season with a couple of unproven coaches in key positions, though.

Coaches make little difference in recruiting. Kids commit to the school.

This isn't true at all. They should commit to the school, but there are many, many instances in which kid decommit after a coach is fired.

To top that off, look what Sam Pittman has done to OLine recruiting for Georgia, and I think most Arkansas fans would say he did similar things at Arkansas. Kids will go to a school if a coach has a proven track record of getting kids to the NFL. Look at Alabama and Clemson, for instance.

Me and a bunch of my buddies could form the staff for Georgia and pull top 10 classes.

But could you pull top 3 classes? that is where the difference comes in.

Conversely, the current Georgia staff could come to Mizzou and be hard pressed to crack the top 25 regularly
Maybe, maybe not. It might take longer but it would probably happen. It has taken Dabo awhile, but Clemson will easily have the #1 class this year. Clemson, before Dabo, regularly finished in the Missouri area in recruiting.

My opinion on 5-star tight ends is this:

Arik and Darnell Washington should connect and try to go to the same school that uses two tight end (12) sets.

Two tight end sets like that combo would be very very hard to defend. They’d only make each other look good.

Wouldn't say UT is out in front by a large margin, but they do probably lead at this time.

I don’t even think they lead. Bailey and Ojulari are recruiting him up there as their HS teammate but he still makes visits to Athens midweek and is a quiet guy (much like Burch in SC). Tennessee is in it for certain but not everything Rusty says is gospel; Gilbert isn’t talking so he’s following visits and proximity to Tennessee recruits
