All of the UF recruiting writers are in consensus and confident that Fields would be in this class prior to Fields decommit.
UF has passed on several commitments at QB, so UF coaches are confident we are getting Fields.

No, but it's a lot further than Athens or Auburn.
It is a shitload further and through Atlanta.

Time for Mac and Stricklin to let Walton know what is up.

Confidence is very high on the UF side. I don't remember a big time recruit that UF felt this good about.

Since he de-committed last night he has gotten CBs for Florida, Auburn and Georgia.
This will be a fun ride.

Florida has gotten 6 CB's from national guys including the #1 and #2 most accurate guys on 247
Auburn and Georgia have gotten 2 of them from local homers.

Relax, no one is printing any shirts.

I doubt LSU gets him, but it has been reported that it's Justin Fields or we don't take a quarterback in this class.
There's no way that's accurate. That would be a very Les Miles-ish move by Coach O.

quote:This is a dumb statement. Anyone that follows recruiting knows that local analysts typically have more reliable information that national analysts do, because the local guys are the ones with connections to the coaches and other insiders, not the national analysts. And I would add to this that Auburn's local analyst, Keith Neihbur, isn't a homer. He probably CBs more guys to Bama than he does to Auburn.

The Wiltfong one matters, the other ones are just jumping on the train. The bottom line is all 3 sides have some sort of confidence in landing Fields. I think everyone would agree that UF is probably in the driver's seat right now but if you think it's a lock you are crazy. This is gonna be a fight and I would not be shocked if he landed at any of the 3 schools. Heck wouldn't be surprised if FSU snuck in and got him

So you're saying he follows Cam's dreams and commits to Florida but Newton's maturity helps Justin stay eligible?

VOLS were crystal ball favorites for Trevor Lawrence, then Emory Jones, then Justin Fields.
Will end up with none of them.

Don't frown - you are still a champion of life!
And you should add to the list of Tennessee failures, Master Teague who lives in Tennessee and is less than 3 hours away.

I don't know why any quarterback would go to Florida right now, period. And I don't know why any high-school quarterback would go to Auburn. The best one they have developed since Gus Malzahn arrived is Sean White, and he's not even the starter anymore.
Florida State would be a scary team with him, or even Clemson.

I think they are gonna be a factor in his recruitment before the end. Not sure he lands there but can never count Jumbo out when it comes to recruiting

I would rather him go to auburn than anywhere else for obvious reasons.
I'm no insider, but based on the general feeling I get from the various reporters, it seems that FSU and UGA isn't seen as quite as big of a factor in his recruitment as it is an Auburn-UF battle with UF having the edge

True.
However, Auburn's development situation has changed.
1. Gus isn't a QB coach, so Lashlee was doing the developing. He gone now.
2. Chip Lindsey has done a good job developing QBs.
3. They now allow for outside QB coaching (idiotic that Gus didn't allow that before).
Hopefully those things change the prospects for Auburn HS QB signees. I, for one, am a huge fan of our most recent signee Malik Willis.

I wish UGA would've offered him earlier. I believ if UGA would've offered him instead of Emory Jones, that he would be committed to UGA. No we didn't offer him because we were so sure we would get T Law.
