Its the timing. If Kirby had tweeted it before OP committed (even just an hour before), then this is a completely non-issue. Kirby had to have an idea he was picking AU - so the timing comes across as a sour puss.
It was absolutely directed at Owen Pappoe and is sending a direct message that UGA has no intention of giving up.
Call him a sour puss all you want, but Kirby Smart is still trying to sign Owen Pappoe.

There's a difference between selling your program and being a little girl. Georgia fans are the type to talk about that girl that rejected them when they were in high school and never get over that shite.
Speaking of little girls... wasn't Mullen photographed on social media taking shots at a sorority house?
Coaches are selling their programs anyway that they can. They are selling it to their athletic departments, their boosters, their fanbase, and current/former/prospective athletes.
When a coach isn't selling his program, you hear the types of complaints that came out about Spurrier ignoring kids when they were younger (who turned out to be great athletes) or kids when they were visiting. Selling the program is a 24/7 job. The great coaches do it. Aren't you happy with the way the Mullen has engrained himself at UF? Aren't you happy with the way he has brought back former players?
Or do you bitch all of the time because it is the Internet and you have nothing better to do?

You guys act like UGA can’t handle missing on a kid. We miss on kids all the time. We got a little spoiled last year landing as many 5 stars as we did but in reality the truth is Georgia before last season always has big time players leave the state. There is a ton of talent in Georgia so naturally we can’t win every recruiting battle. It’s not like we are Bama and can sell championships like candy. We have to sell the program and a vision and until that vision is realized it’s very likely we are a top 5 ish recruiting program more often than a number 1 program like Bama. That being said, we should still have a damn good class with the south being so loaded this year.
As for the jackasses on both sides - it’s ok. AU won this recruiting battle. They will win others. It’s not like we are talking about some podunk college town - AU has a damn good team right now and are always competitive. Have some respect.
I mean, we missed on the number 1 player in the country last year to Clemson and everyone got over. It’s all good.

There is literally photographic evidence on Twitter that UGA cannot handle missing on a kid.

Yeah I get it, but doing it 2 hours earlier makes it a proactive recruiting tactic, rather than a reactive one. It looks salty, and may even hurt with OP as it looks like a jab. POoint is it could have had the same effect with no negative connotations if he had just done it before the commitment. Only UGA fans cant see this.

like what?
Well lets just start with AU -
(a) the tweet yesterday, (b) Telling Gary Danielson that he was sending plays in to teh SEC to review against AU; (c) the "I'll tell Nick you said that" whine to Gus after the first game. He just looks like a whiny punk sometimes. Its not big stuff, its just petty stupid stuff - kinda like a Grayson Allen type.

I mean the program.
I can find jackasses from every program freakign out on twitter when a kid commits. There were also some very good responses telling him good luck from UGA fans.

Nah, it’s you whining in a thread that has nothing to do with you. The draft ended 2 days before that and the tweet congratulated his players in a factual manner. It was going out with or without Pappoe. It’s called aggressively selling the program and it works as proven by the recruits signed by, committed to, or interested in uga under smart. No rational person would equate that to “making a complete arse of himself”. What a retarded take.

Right now, the direction of the program and it's something Nick Saban has done is take little jabs like this.....it's a tactic.

Some people may see Kirby’s tweet as sour grapes. Others see it as an excellent troll. The only thing that matters is how recruits see it, specifically Pappoe.

I never said it wasnt a tactic - read my earlier post where I said it absolutely was a strategic move. Not all tactics have the desired effect and this could be one, IMO.

Or other 2019 recruits like nakobe dean or any 2020 or 2021 recruits. Point of tweet was, Uga sends guys to the nfl and they make bank so come to uga and let’s work.

I believe Saban sent out a similar tweet about his players getting drafted, is it really that big of a deal? Social media has become huge when it comes to recruiting and who is to say Kirby was trying to reach out to other LB's like Dean and Jones?

...or so if you dont come here you're an idiot and can't make correct decisions. Who knows how recruits, including OP, will interpret it.

I would argue that you have to be both proactive and reactive.
IDGAF about what may be negative connotations. Kirby's job is to sign the best players he can. I'd be pissed if he wasn't taking every opportunity to make that happen. Proactive, reactive, whatever.

Every coach sends in plays. Who cares if he told Gary Danielson in a production meeting? He was just being honest.
The comment to Gus is clearly a joke. I doubt Gus took offense. All these coaches know each other pretty well.
You're just predisposed to not liking him. Neither of those is an actual thing.

Timing is only issue with me.

Every coach does it - not every one leaks it to Gary Danielson. Go and listen to the way Danielson phrased it - Kirby was trying to send some message.
How do you know the Gus comment was a joke - knowing Kirby's emotional nature, I highly doubt he was in a mood to cracking zingers after getting skull-dragged upo and down the field that night.
I'm not pre-disposed to disliking Kirby. I actually know him to a degree (his wife and I have a mutual friend so see him at wedding type events). I think he's highly personable, funny, a helluva a coach - he just does these stupid little things that irk the shite out of me.
