Just saying that if you have to nail it that far down to a recruit about opportunity to play for titles not sure how that's a dramatically better selling point. To me selling idea of playing 2 of the best in the country every year is a positive & reiterates idea you get a shot at playing for titles

Well, it does imply that we are the second best team in the conference, not to mention that you probably will have a little bit more left in the tank for the SECCG and beyond when you're not playing 1 and 2 in the last 2 games of the season. As I recall, Auburn's health (or lack thereof) was a crutch many fans leaned on after the 21 point rematch defeat in the SECCG.

Quality addition to the argument, as usual.

OP (if he puts in the work) can make it to the NFL from either of these programs and frankly several others. He will be in the SECCG mix w/ either team. He simply will pick what he thinks is best for him on and off the field. Not sure why folks think one choice is all that different from the other except we are all biased towards our own programs.

LINK

Link to a whole hour of Recruiting expert Kenyatta Watson on the disastrous state of UGA recruiting--August 2017.

How is that for a freezing cold take?

UGA fans should be really happy you aren't in charge of their recruiting pitches

Could you show him a recent actual national championship trophy?

Absolutely. Honestly I think the NFL Draft pitch is the one that makes most sense for UGA having a slight edge. Kirby Smart has a proven track record of putting linebackers in the NFL. AU does not. Throw in being the instate school & last year's success & I can see why UGA fans feel confident Pappoe will eventually land with them

But sometimes relationships win out. Right now Pappoe believes in T-WILL & that appears to have given AU the temporary edge

If any team is relying primarily on their schedule to convince a recruit, they're in trouble. But we as fans are allowed to make such pitches to one another for the sake of argument, right?

Sure but the original point of discussion was that UGA can more easily sell playing for championships. My point is to do that you have to make the argument that you play inferior competition at UGA which doesn't really make for a good recruiting pitch. Bottom line is AU/BAMA/UGA can all sell opportunity to play for championships right now

Im a huge Dawg fan but I also live in Takeo Spikes hometown. AU linebackers have a slightly different perspective here lol but I agree w/ your logic.

Nope... But this staff has been working hard to get one. I know a bunch of us (UGA)fans seem crazy but if you had waited as long as we have you would be fired up too. I think with our recent recruiting we will be in the mix for a while.

I can show him a more recent SEC trophy than Auburn can. I can also show him complete ownage of Auburn over the last 15 years. I can show him a vastly superior university and a far better college town, as well as a better class of people who don't support pedophiles for the US Senate.

UGA can also show what an arrogant obnoxious fan base looks like willing to do, say and pay anything to get recruits. You are going yo lose some battles sometimes. Hope OP sees what a classless group UGA fans are.

All fact, no conjecture what so ever. We should just reject OP's commitment and deliver him to UGA on this analysis. Well done on the rational stance.

And honestly who wants to voluntarily be associated with grown adults who bark at other adults?
