I was assured by Auburn and LSU fans alike that Husky Harsin couldn't recruit his way out of a wet paper bag.

I never said anything quite to that extent but I was definitely wrong about the class I thought he would pull in right away. Incredible haul.

But with the wild world of NIL? How many stay to become developed into legitmate SEC starters?

No doubt some players will listen to the noise (parents/agents/family) and fail to be patient long enough to receive the proper training & develop it takes to become an SEC caliber player and they will portal out.

Even the GOAT with his track record of developing players and a proven pipeline to the NFL couldn't convince every guy (even the ones that would've greatly benefitted from sticking around.) It's just the nature of the beast in college football now.

I don't even think the homerest of our own BAMA homers thought the class would be this good.

It’s crazy how these recruiting websites just miss by a mile. Tay was a crystal ball 100% to OU on rivals. Then the experts were saying A&M and now he commits to Bama. lol

IMO, these players agents string along the recruiting sites to generate headlines & hype in order to boost the bidding war for a top prospect.

Haywood is originally from Mississippi. He grew up an Alabama fan. The recruiting services should have given more attention to Alabama early on. But I’m sure with the coaching transition a lot of pundits wrote Alabama off for a lot of the national prospects.

Ty was an OU lean until Bama turned up the heat. One of Bama's web site owners commented that his Texas source (which has proven extremely reliable to him over the years) had said that OU was leading for a while, but that OU's staff was concerned about Bama turning up the heat and getting him in for a visit because it was known that Haywood has always liked Bama a lot despite OU's staff having the longer relationship. When Bama brought him in for his visit, that turned out to be the case.

You might be on the verge of paying us back with Floyd Boucard, though, who is a big-time stud that the recruiting sites are WAYYYYY off on in terms of ranking. Bama's been after him for a while. Supposedly, OU's staff likes where they sit with him right now with Bama, Miami, and USC still trying.

Getting this out of the way now, but Haywood will not be signing with Alabama.

He and his mom hired an agent last month and his agent is looking for a much bigger deal than Alabama is willing to match.

Oh well.

Best of luck to him.

Luckily this was already a deep class for the OLine with 5-star Michael Carrol, 4-star Jackson Lloyd and 4-star Micah DeBose.

But it still sucks to lose this guy.

Everyone need to get used to this. Big names will go were the money is. This is a Pro league with no rules.
