I think it's fair to frame Clemson and Alabama as the frontrunners, although Georgia and Auburn are certainly in the mix and could pull rank over time. A decision isn't expected until after some officials this fall, and I think the longer this recruitment goes the better for Clemson.
What worked in Clemson's favor was the Tigers' ability to attack this recruitment from a pretty under-the-radar position. That's not really the case now after Webb camped at Clemson and elected to return for the All-In Cookout, but it stood true this spring when everybody had already penciled him in as an Alabama commitment.
Mom is a huge fan of Clemson. And sometimes that's all you need to win a recruiting battle. Todd Bates doesn't hurt, either. Talk about a job this guy has been doing on the recruiting trail. Wow...

I honestly don't think the Clemson 247 site knows shite...
I think it's a Bama vs UGA battle until the end and Clemson is a distant 3rd...Clay has said numerous times that his favorite coaches and the men he has the biggest bond with are Pittman and Key

Zip, nada nothing. I am not making predictions but I know UGA is in the mix. Sam Pittman has gotten every offensive lineman he wanted last year - wouldn’t bet against him pulling an upset of conventional wisdom here.

We've all convinced ourselves he's a "lock" but that confidence is starting to shake a little.
If he's the lock or "silent commit" we all believe he is, then why not commit and start helping out with recruiting?
It's frustrating. Webb could possibly spark a little more momentum if he would go ahead and commit.
I think ultimately bammie gets him but I don't believe he's a lock at all.

I think most Georgia fans feel like he is Alabama's right now, but feel we are in it. If Urban gets the boot at OSU, and Miller decides to go elsewhere, I think we give up on Webb and concentrate on Miller.
If none of that happens, it will be interesting to see the two programs duke it out for Webb.

I don’t think you give up on a guy like Webb if he’s interested in you.
If you know you have Miller’s commitment, than I guess you can give up, but you definitely don’t back off if you’re not certain you have the other guy locked up.
