WestcoastAG LSU has pulled so many good TX recruits its not even funny. Solid troll

When does he announce?
Posted on 12/16/14 at 11:31 am to betweenthebara
Him and Deandre McNeal announce at 8:45et (teammates at Poteet). Jefferson is expected to pick A&M and McNeal is expected to choose UCLA.

If A&M hires his(McNeal) position coach and Malik picks A&M then I think McNeal follows. Even if A&M doesn't don't be shocked if he follows Malik.

Is UCLA recruiting him at WR or LB?
We are recruiting him at WR.
We are recruiting him at WR.

He's made it known he wants to play WR so I think all schools that are recruiting him are doing as a WR. To me he's a better LB recruit.

Still holding on to a slim bit of hope, but it looks like A&M will get him
Relationships win out over coaching ability in this case it would appear.
Is this how all you aggies felt about Mack and his snake oil selling abilities? Cause I sure as shite don't see why Malik would want to play for Sumlin over Strong.

One school is hoarding all of the states talent . The other one has its class centered around Charles omenihu. I think that's all to needs to be said

Touche

It's just weird for me, I suppose. I'm 21 right now and my first memory of UT football was the season that Mack took over and Ricky's record breaking run against y'all. I've only seen Texas as a perennial conference contender and powerhouse recruiter. So these past 5 years since the Bama game has been very strange to me, with A&M's perfect storm of JFF and the move to the SEC sparking the terrific recruiting tear y'all have been on the past few years.
I'm not ready to panic about Strong and his recruiting capabilities because I always thought this season would be shitty and the trail would be tough on him because he's basically having to form bonds with these guys who have known Sumlin, Briles, Patterson, et al for years.
I think next season will give us a better indication on where he ranks amongst the coaches in the state of Texas. No excuses for not having time to recruit these guys, or breaking guys into the system. The cancer has been removed so hopefully we won't be rolling out another OL full of projected 2nd/3rd stringers like we did this season.
But anyways, congrats on the Kirk pickup, but I hope to god we get Malik. We're gonna need him.

Maybe he doesn't want to lose to BYU and TCU by a combined 72 points at home?

And I'd put maybe only 21-24 of those points on the D. I blame Mack and Tyrone for the rest

don't panic for another four years or so
Posted on 12/17/14 at 4:12 pm to WestCoastAg
Charlie will be here at least another 2 years, so we'll see at that point. I think the real measurement of panic will be taken at the end of next season. We got through the season of complete bullshite and still managed to make a bowl. So if we suck again next year, it might be time to start panicking. Otherwise, if we show improvement, like I think we will, put me in the cautiously optimistic crowd.
I think my worst fear though is that we get stuck in the place we were caught in with Mack's last 3 years: 8-9 wins with lots of promise for the next year being the 11-12 win conference/national championship challenging season, but not actually getting over that hump.
I try not to make knee-jerk reactions to anything when it comes to football, because shite can change in the blink of an eye.
tl;dr we sucked this year, as expected. Not panicking unless we suck again next year and hoping we don't get stuck in 8-9 win per season limbo

Here's who you lose to graduation/NFL draft:
Tackles Leaders - #1, #2, #4, #5, #6, #7
TFL Leaders - #1, #2, #3, #4
Sack Leaders - #1, #3, #4, #5
INT Leaders - #2, #4
Leading Rusher
Receiving Leaders - #1, #2, #5, #8
That's a whole hell of a lot of production that you lose without a lot of backfill.

Very true, we lose a lot this year. Especially on defense. We're gonna be replacing 6 starters I think, assuming Brown goes: Reed, Brown, Hicks, Edmond, Diggs, and Thompson.
What keeps me from being completely pessimistic about it next season is the turnaround that Thompson has had this season. Probably one of the worst defensive players I had ever seen on a Texas defense, until this season. He was moved to CB and learned how to tackle, cover and play with a fricking mean streak. I'm sure most people only know of him from that infamous blowU gif, but he was been fantastic this year thanks to Chuck and co.
Granted, not everyone is going to improve like that, but I can't help but at least feel hopeful. My expectations may be betrayed but we won't know till next season.
Offense is anyone's fricking guess though. Depends on if Heard comes good, or if Swoopes pulls a Space Jam on VY, otherwise we're fricked no matter what.

Texas also started a white walk-on safety, and had 5 offensive linemen who had a combined 5 starts between them going into the BYU game. The roster was terrible this year, and I think Strong actually did a pretty decent coaching job with them (especially the defense which was ranked 2nd in the big 12). Strong is a really good defensive coach and doesn't need great players to have a good defense. The problem is you have to score and the offense they had this year had so many problems. They couldn't run block, pass block, Swoopes has a strong but inaccurate arm, and the playcalling was terrible in the few games I watched. Mack Brown left them in terrible shape, but that doesn't completely excuse the offense's performance this year. With Texas money you think they would have gone after a big name OC, but I guess they're happy with what they have.

Just for the record, texas still had the #6 bluechip % roster this year. I think it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Yeah it's not exactly like the cupboard was bare.
