Just a beast of an ILB at 266lbs and moves like he’s 235. Heat seeking missle that can tackle, blitz and cover short passing routes in space.

Long way to go with UGA, ATM, Oregon and Bama in contention.

Today, Trent Smallwood puts in his forecast for Sewell to UGA.

Video Highlights - SEWELL

Want more than any other recruit left on the board, an SEC caliber ILB would be huge for Elko to have on his side of the ball. From what I've read it sounds like Oregon still leads at this point.

Is this the guy they talk about on the alabama board, who alabama may pass on because of his lateral speed and movement?

I could be thinking of a different player but there's some elite linebacker out there, that some alabama fans believe is down on the board because he's not quite good enough.

I wonder if it's this guy.

Uh... not likely...

SHUTTLE

He's 266 and he ran the short shuttle faster than Devin White at the NFL combine. If that's lateral speed/movement issues, I'd like to see what passes for quality.

Pandy watch Sewell’s tape and check out his SPARQ score.

He is a 4.66 / 40 at 266lbs. If Bama wants to bow out on him, I applaud them :)

Well i don't know if it's this guy or not but there was alot of chatter on the alabama recruiting board about passing on some big time linebacker and i think it was this guy. If not him, some other uber elite guy.

No shite, really. A fair amount of babbling about how his side to side speed was not quite where it needed to be and because of that, alabama had him lower on the board.

Maybe it was a different linebacker but i don't think so.

Maybe titalsarge can chime in on this. He might know what i'm talking about. Probably does. In fact it may have been him doing the chatter. If not then some other regular.

Yeah TWF, I really want Sewell for Dawgs - Kirby and DC Lanning have prioritized Sewell over Flowe. Obviously Flowe is Clemson lean and higher ranked player but Sewell is more unique player compared to what the Dawgs already have in their very deep ILB room.

I seriously doubt Bama has lost interest in Sewell. He seems to me like a player Saban would love.

It's probably the same guy. We get it. If you ain't gettin a guy, you didn't want him.

Different guy, you’re thing of Sampah. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about Sewell, I don’t know if we’re in it for him but Surge would know better than I.

Nope. Bama board post on Antoine Sampah

Bama is recruiting Sewell, but right now isn't certain to get one of his five OVs.

Sav'ell Smalls is a very highly-ranked LB that Bama isn't actively pursuing, but it's not due to concerns about his FB talent.

Our folks have made it seems like he’s basically a lock to Oregon at this point

I'm in "I'll believe it when I see it" mode, but more than a few very quality posters and UGA insiders seem to think that 1) he'll likely play in the SEC and not on the west coast and 2) that the dawgs are in a good position as of this moment... Like every other recruitment... it's still only August and I'm not naive enough to think that means we'll definitely get his signature even IF it's 100% accurate. Just sharing that the "Oregon lock" stuff that I'd been hearing closer to the Opening finals is at least softening a bit.

Yeah i know. Somebody chimed in on that already. It's some other elite linebacker that isn't good enough.

Out of curiosity, what's the hold up there? Kid looks real damn talented.
