This reminds me of Jordan Scarlett committing to FAU early in the recruiting cycle

That's all true. I just don't see it being a massive difference between programs. Talent will always rise. I do agree that he would be better off at LSU.

I think Houston uses him to leverage other recruits and then he ends up somewhere else. To early in the cycle for it to be solid. I think Herman knew it was going to be a battle, but needs the hype/attention more than Oliver. its believable enough to recruits that it'll lock down a decent class, and then if Oliver stays it's a bonus.

They just got another highly ranked DT that was originally committed to Baylor.

I just saw that Thomas Dunson is a defensive quality control coach for Houston. He's the worst LSU linebacker in the history of ever.

That's good enough to be huge difference makers in Houston's conference too

Hell that's a good DL haul for top 25 level schools

DJ Welter was considerably worse

Herman is going to do great down there with his TX ties to the state. Texas Lutheran, UT, Sam Houston St., TX. Stat and Rice.

Been all over the state for a decade then went on and was a boss playcaller the last couple years

I like him a ton

ON one hand i get the draw of family ties.

On the other, he is not going to be pushed like he would playing in a more competitive conference.
