Can you read? Did I ever say that? Do you constantly make stuff up and purport it as fact. It sure seems like it.

We were in his final 3. Yeah, from the beginning we probably weren't going to land him. But to say we had no chance? Naw

I never said you said that. Sounds like you just made up a fact about me right there.

This is from 2/8/13 fwiw (straight from VQ)

quote:

Tennessee's struggle to land a big-time running back has been well discussed. They were in the mix for Derrick Henry and Derrick Green. Green committed to Derek Dooley and Jay Graham in the fall and planned to announce before a late season collapse put Dooley on the first bus out of town and made Green step back and rethink things. We are told that he even discussed the possibility of trying to get a Bluetick Coonhound for his announcment before things went south. Then there was Johnathan "Rudy" Ford who told Tennessee commitments and coaches that he was heading to Rocky Top as late as this past weekend. But when Auburn offered it changed the dynamic of things and it was ultimately too much for the Vols to overcome. Ford continued to talk to Tennessee coaches and players, but the pressure from immediate and extended family was so severe that Ford wasn't going to be able to spurn his family and homestate Tigers. The running back that did land in Knoxville, Jabo Lee, also had to withstand pressure from people in Dillon to stay loyal to East Carolina.

So now the focus turns to getting multiple running backs in the class of 2014. Nick Chubb, Treyvon Paulk, Jalen Hurd, Derrell Scott, Samaje Perine, Roc Thomas and several others. Paulk plans on bringing his dad to Knoxville next weekend after coming up last weekend with Vol signee and friend Ryan Jenkins. The Vols have the momentum in his recruitment so it's not out of the question to think that Paulk could pull the trigger soon.

Prior to his visit to Auburn and following his visit to Tennessee defensive end Carl Lawson told the Tennessee staff he was coming. But his father, Carl Sr., took two trips on his own down to Auburn to see the Tigers before his son's visit the final weekend and ultimately the Tigers won out. Carl Sr. also made a trip on his own up to Knoxville in December. But in the end, the Lawson's had just too much comfort level at Auburn with the 7-8 unofficial visits they had made to do anything other than be a Tiger.

E.J. Levenberry was another guy that at one time the staff believed would be a Vol and those at Florida State thought so as well before his official visit. But, after returning home from a shorter official visit than usual, things began to get dicey for the Vols. The father was sold on the Vols because of early playing time and not having to deal with Sal Sunseri, but one thing everyone underestimated was Levenberry's friends from the Washington D.C. area that are now at FSU. Ronald Darby and Eddie Goldman weren't shy in letting him know how comfortable they were at FSU and were both friends with Levenberry before they enrolled at FSU.

Hubbs and Co. would have no reason to ever make that up considering they never reported they were coming to Tennessee beforehand.

I'm not saying they make stuff up. Recruiting insiders get bits and pieces of information and then come to a conclusion. Then they post how they feel about a certain situation. Some are better than others at it but all of them are essentially making somewhat educated guesses.

UT insiders have been horrible when it comes to recruits that both AU and UT have been in on.

You literally had no chance. Michigan insiders were saying for sure Michigan. Auburn insiders were saying for sure Michigan.

Obviously he wasn't coming to Tennessee when he announced in January. No one thought he was. Around the time of the UF game in September though when he visited many Tennessee people thought he could be on commitment watch.

But what I know, matter of factly, is that Hubbs would never in a million years come out and say straight up that a kid is a silent commit. It's just not the way he posts. The man has never given a direct answer in his life.

You have made no headway into proving that Brent Hubbs ever called TN Carl Lawson's favorite let alone a silent commit.

Yo Tennessee Jed... you got a response to this now?

Clearly Joey doesn't get what a "silent commit" is does he? Hubbs clearly reported that these guys voiced their commitment to join the Volz and werent silent

Jed you are a joke. I wouldn't be shocked if there was a "Lebron James told the UTk staff he was coming before deciding to go pro due to pressure from immediate family and friends"
