Sounds like his only option is JUCO if he wants to play this fall. He wont get qualified to play for a D1 school this fall.

He dropped out of school at LSU this semester supposedly (was online) and did not finish with good grades in Fall semester when he left school. He was facing a suspension if he returned to LSU.

Last Chance U (East Mississippi Community College) next stop for Arik? Coach Buddy and a year of downtime in Scuba, Mississippi might help Arik get straight.

aaaaand Arik is back in Baton Rouge

No clue what his intentions or what his reasoning is. Could be cleaning out his apartment. But Mike Farrell reported today that Gilbert is back in BR.

Farrell frequently misrepresents things for clicks though, so who knows. just thought I'd bring it to the board.

ETA: he is not just here to clean out his apartment

...not getting my hopes up though

It is definitely confusing. I don't know enough about the surrounding circumstances to really comment about it.

we actually do.

But we take credits from all over. When i was in school, i took some summer classes at UNO because I wanted to get some hours in, but also live back home with my friends for the summer. I've had plenty of friends take classes at brcc (Baton Rouge Community College) during the summer and some even during the school year that counted towards their major.

I know for a fact LSU has a spring intersession where they offer classes, and two summer sessions where you can take a maximum of 9 hours each session (unless they've changed the rules in the last 5 years since i graduated).

I do not, however, know if an athlete can take classes at UNO or BRCC or somewhere else, and how that would effect their scholarship/eligibility.
