Over a full point below our average player's rating.

If you want your mind blown, he would have been the 14th highest rated commit in our class.

Congrats on the pickup... as I indicated yesterday. Good eval on what looks to be an under the radar quality WR.

Unless you're actively seeking out derpasaurus rex level posters, not sure you're going to get a lot of upset Dawg fans. We had room for 2 WRs in this class...

Signed - Kearis Jackson - Composite 120 player nationally
- More likely to function as slot receiver at 5'11"ish

Lean - Tommy Bush - Composite 196 player nationally
- Need big body WR to function in Wims role

Young wouldn't have filled either of these roles particularly well. Best of luck to the young man either way.

In all seriousness, what is your deal hombre? As I've said before, it's clear that Butch has broken you as a poster. Tennessee needs to win some games to help you right the ship I guess. It's sad that a once near elite internetter has allowed himself to fall so far and get rtfu by posters that function at a sub-autistic level.

Have you not noticed the infestation in your ranks over the last few months? Derpasaurus Rex level is now 95% of Georgia posters.

It's a fricking army of Cobb/DrewDawgs, I almost want Monteg back.

I gave you a pass in your OP, but it turns out you really don't know how to spell cue. And here I had you pegged as one of those classic intelligent UT fans.

... Name them. A good portion are alters or posters with double digit total posts. If you let alters and newbs rustle you, I stand by my assessment that you have fallen in the wake of Butch.

I'll give you a head start:
diddlydawg - has improved - duly noted was awful poster to begin with

tb2k7 - bonafide idiot. probably wants to be better, but likely is incapable

Cobb - dropped on his head multiple times as an infant. no worse than any other "bad poster" from another school... he just hates UT

DrewDawg - has his moments. he's the eternal optimist - a modern day less gay, more "brotastic" Firewind. If Phat Phil and Serreneaux get a pass for UT, DD should as well

HT - dumb... don't have much else to say for him.

The majority of *real* UGA posters don't resemble this list in any way shape or form, coupled with the fact that most of them don't even make it off of the dawgrant with any regularity. Never figured you for such a sensitive pussy quite honestly. You can, and should do better.

A week ago, Jordan Young went into his official visit to Tennessee as a mostly unknown, under-the-radar prospect who only had received scholarship offers from Coastal Carolina and a pair of Division II schools.
When the four-star senior wide receiver from Heritage High School in Conyers, Ga., announced Friday afternoon that he has committed to Tennessee, he became one of the most important additions to the Vols’ 2018 recruiting class, 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons said.
Simmons said the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Young could be “a game-changing type of pickup” for new Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt’s staff.
“I mean, this is one of the most eye-popping late finds that I can remember,” Simmons said of Young, who’s ranked by 247Sports as the No. 190 overall prospect and No. 27 wide receiver in the 2018 class. “I think, based on film and based on profile and just what we know on the surface of this kid, he could be one of the best receivers in this class.”
Young received his initial rating from 247Sports on Thursday and made his debut in the final update to the Top247 for the 2018 class.
Simmons said Young’s highlights, combined with his history as a state champion in the 110-meter hurdles in Georgia’s Class AAAAAA, quickly caught the attention of 247Sports’ analysts.
“We put him in the Top247 based on that profile, that highlight film,” Simmons said. “And I think, if we had more time to get confident with this kid, that there’s no reason he doesn’t have top-100 or five-star ceiling. That’s how good his film and his profile — being a track state champion and a productive kid on the high-school level — that’s the kind of upside I think he’s got.
“So, to me, I think this is a game-changing type of pickup.”

It’s “a total head-scratcher,” Simmons said, that Young somehow remained relatively unknown until Tennessee hosted him on an official visit last weekend and gave him his first major-conference scholarship offer on Sunday.
Young caught 66 passes for 1,562 yards and 17 touchdowns in his breakout senior season, and he claims to have been timed at 4.43 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
“He’s not that far off the beaten path outside of Atlanta,” Simmons said. “He’s a state champion 110-meter hurdler. He averaged 22 yards a catch and had 1,500 yards receiving. His team was pretty good. He’s an all-state guy.
“Given all the teams that go through the state of Georgia, and the priority that the greater Atlanta area is to all these major programs, the fact that he stayed hidden is incredibly surprising. It doesn’t take but one clip on his film to understand the kid is special.”
Simmons said Young’s “elite” ball skills stand out most on film, including “his body control, his ball-tracking ability.”
“I think his leaping ability and the way he can finish catches with defenders around him is part of that,” Simmons said. “The fact that we can verify the athleticism is critical because now you know that’s taken care of, because what you can really, clearly tell on tape is that the ball skills are elite.
“And that’s what makes me really excited about him because, even though he’s an athletic, big kid, he’s got the natural instincts at the position, the things you can’t teach. I think ball skills are as innate as anything at wide receiver, and he’s got that.”

That's some nice spin by Barton to cover up the fact that a player was "unknown" to his recruiting service. He wasn't unknown to Georgia, visited during the season. He was mentioned on at least one UGA recruiting site that I remember. 247 is just basically admitting that they either don't know much about HS football athletes until someone gives them a heads up, or don't rank them until it suits their purpose to notice.

I hope Young has a good career in football. Too many good players in Georgia for UGA to get them all.

I love how one of the articles mentions Auburn going by to see this kid. Think you were even dumb enough to highlight that part.

Pretty sure Auburn never had any serious interest in this kid. We already have three 4 star receivers plus a high 3 star who happens to be Bo Jackson's nephew

For the Georgia fan who said look at their 2019 receivers, Jadon Haslewood is apparently visiting Auburn today. The start of a permanent flip
