Here is what our depth chart looks like for this year. Zero seniors. Have to think Preston Williams gets a lot of PT early next year too. Who knows how he fits in though, because he probably isn't beating out the starters.

This is exactly why I don’t like UGA’s odds for Jefferson. We have lost all 4 battles to UT. I could be wrong, but UGA finished 2nd for all (with the exception of Preston since his is ongoing) the guys listed.

I thought Pearson had been getting all of the slot reps this spring?

Damn, that's a pretty stout lineup.
And thanks for the years on the other guys. Glad too see we're not the only school with attrition.

Really hope we land Van. UT has no trouble recruiting WRs.
More importantly, our DT haul this year may be the best in over a decade.

Is there a reason why people are saying OSU is out of it? I haven't heard any info on why it's UT/UGA now

I don't know, I think someone referenced a new article on 247.

Buck Fitzgerald (Former UT player & IFM Guru out of Nashville) said on VQ last night(buried in a random thread I can't find) that despite what everybody thinks about Van Jefferson being a OSU lock, it's not true. He said that when Van went up there he felt like the OSU staff just considered him another body and didn't make him feel overly welcome or appreciated on his visit. When he went to UT Butch apparently pulled out the red carpet. That was big and really stood out to Van and his parents.
I threw that up on our board earlier this week. That was the last that I've heard

Thanks. I hadn't seen that.
Interesting that this hasn't convinced 25 CBs to change direction. Usually one comment from a legit source will make everyone scramble

No problem.
Buck isn't big with conference media or national media so it's not to surprising the CBs haven't swayed away from OSU yet. He's one of a few guys who posts on VQ that's normally all over what's going on with the TN kids though. I'd be surprised if anyone outside of who in our fan base was able to read that particular thread knows his thoughts on Vans situation.

How many guys do you plan on taking in this class? I just saw the team rankings and noticed you guys a lot lower then usual. I chalked it up to taking a small class this year, but wasn't positive.

I think our class will be around 22 or so. Buckeye Nation has been freaking out over the #'s, but I'm not really.
We are in on a lot of really high caliber guys, many from the south. Most of those guys aren't going to venture up to Ohio on their own dime, so they will wait until official visits to get them up north.
Insiders still feel good about Gibson, Kirk, and Harris for offensive skill positions, which may give us the best haul in the country when it is said and done.
I think we whiff on a few guys this year, and finish around 10. Not a bad class, but an awful class by Urban's standards.
That class goes way up if OSU plays well this year, and is in the playoff/wins the title.

Yeah, it seems like OSU and UT are going head to head for a lot of recruits this year.

I think Jefferson/Gibson are really the 2 I can think of. Last year Tenn. pulled the RB we wanted bad, who I still like a lot.
With OSU going south even more than usual with Meyer, there will be a ton more battles with all the SEC schools. Meyer and OSU need to show they can beat the southern talent on the field to win more of those battles.

I thought OSU is pursuing DeBerry, Kirk, Drew Richmond, Chris Clark, and some others as well?
I know they cooled on Settles.

They may be pursuing them, but I think they are realistic for Kirk and MAYBE DeBerry of that group. Chris Clark is Michigan bound I think.
I mean I'm sure Tenn and OSU are in smaller battles but I feel like that's to be expected when both teams want and expect top classes. Is it more OSU/Tenn battles than Tenn/Bama battles or Tenn/Auburn battles?

I feel like the teams we battle the most are Georgia and Auburn.

AU more than anybody. I would throw Bama in there with UT and Clemson. I might even include FSU, UF, and USCe in that group.
