This is you in the same thread as the OP.

Forgive me for thinking that you read the original post.

Seriously though - why are you even posting in a thread when you admittedly know nothing about the prospect?

Yes. It’s quite clear, But I Guess he just wanted something to whine about, and he thinks folks are dumb enough to fall for his “I am defending the sanctity of the recruiting board” bs.

Uga lock. Texas is set at db. They need linemen and tailback depth.

There are threads where I may make a comment without reading every single post in the thread.
But I have never commented in a thread without reading the first post.

Maybe I should try that and see what fireworks ensue.

The prospect is irrelevant.

Calling an a-hole an a-hole has nothing to do with Lewis Cine.

Meh... This post was nothing more than a thinly veiled jab at djs' favorite circle jerk partner on the rant, Straws.

Straws either wisely, or by coincidence seems to be avoiding the thread, but ultimately, TS' original posts were largely correct.

quote:

Wouldn't it make more sense to call out one of the Texas schools for Cine instead of Mullen? The kid does live in Texas after all.

Even still, wouldn't it be more appropriate to call out someone other than Florida?

I don't see a lot of Gators claiming they were getting Cine, so it's hard to find any substantial reason why the callout to Gators and Mullen were mentioned? It's like the USC posters who were claiming a recruiting win over UGA for a guy that we weren't really actively recruiting (DB, can't remember which one - not Daniels). Just odd and unbecoming.

After that, he got a little off track, but TS is generally a pretty good poster... though posting the gifs as a response was a little childish, and not one of his finer moments.

It is what it is. It was a beautiful pass. It hurt, but I have to admire the play.

Look...Without looking.... im positive you could no doubt point to examples and I’m sure there are plenty of threads that could point out the other side..I just get tired of trying to read the recruiting board and it’s always a trolling shite slinging contest...sorry his dumbass brought u in to the mix and me in turn...

I think you are making his point for him. This has always been a no troll zone...pretty much meaning no taking cheap shots at anybody. Mostly reasonable discussion and not even jokingly talking trash, as a whole. A couple of fan bases (I think it was Auburn in the form of phan and a couple of LSU fans after Emery committed) started trolling and it's turning into the wild, wild west. Some of our posters took exception to the trolling and have jumped in on it, too.

That said...djs probably shouldn't have taken the shot at Florida....but it was extremely tame compared to what has been going on in the recruiting threads lately.

I think it was down to being between Georgia and Penn State, anyway...possibly because y'all are set at DB.

He picked us, btw.

Cine was pretty much a lock to us. At least as big of a lock as Pappoe. (Wait) The only other school I had heard him tied to lately is Penn State. I mean, he made visits, but most thought it came down to us and Penn State, and State was just a hat on the table.

At no point did any Gator fan on Twitter, the Rant, or 247 ever think that we were getting this guy. Him visiting was a last second thing, none of us knew we were in on him at any point prior to less than a week ago when he said he was visiting UF. This certainly isn’t an indictment on Mullen’s recruiting. We’ll get ours.

Your recruiting does seem to be picking up a bit, and if you keep winning it will continue to get better.

Factually Accurate

Optimism...

In all seriousness though, there is enough talent in the state of Florida (and surrounding states) that UF should never have a problem with a class somewhere in the 10-15 range... beyond that, you're going to need significant improvement not just from Mullen as a recruiter, but his staff. Will be interesting to see if that happens this year, with some decently positive momentum coming off the wins over both SECW opponents, and still games to be played against UGA, USC, FSU...

There’s plenty of guys that are going to end up Gators that just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Keon Zipperer, LLoyd Summerall, NayQuan Wright, TJ Jones, Kaiir Elam, etc.

We’re likely going to have a top 10 class and already have a lot of momentum for 2020. The “Mullen can’t recruit” narrative is taking a big hit with this class and next years class.

After we lost to Kentucky, I wanted to beat Tennessee and FSU, and find a way to upset 1 of Miss State/LSU/UGA for recruiting purposes.

We’ve exceeded my post Kentucky game expectations already. Of course, I want to beat UGA and FSU still, and think it’s a foregone conclusion we beat FSU. UGA would be icing on the cake. Our recruiting has picked up a ton of momentum and I really like where we’re at. Not on yalls level for this class, but I think we can start closing the gap/keeping up with y’all starting with a top 5 2020 class.

Grantham does a great job recruiting OLBs.

Preseason, I predicted Florida would have the SEC sack leader. You are slightly off, but your team is leading the conference.

Grantham also always has a hard hitting safety on each roster. If I had to guess, that is how you drew the visit. The defensive scheme plays well to what Cine wants to do.

UF will be fine recruiting defense.

Makes sense. Definitely the UK loss was a stunner. Coupling up the Miss St and LSU wins pretty much help offset any negative recruiting that UF might have seen as a result though. I agree, it would be highly improbable for y'all to lose the FSU matchup at this point. We can agree to disagree on your chances in Jax.

Since I lost access to post on Gator board, I haven't really been following the chatter on Gator recruiting other than public commitments, so can't really speak to the momentum, but certainly would not be surprising to see a top 10ish class (+/- 3). Not sure I see a top 5 2020 class unless there is a pretty big haul of in-state talent that you anticipate winning the big battles for over FSU and Miami though. That would be a pretty substantial jump for a staff that is objectively not full of strong recruiters. I think the "bad recruiting" label is probably overused, but it's not a staff full of strong ones either. Of course, that's just one dude on the internet's opinion. Time will tell either way.
