I guess I could throw in Anthony Morgan, but I wish we would process his arse.

Why? He has been a great team player. He coaches keep jerking him around and moving him every year. Never complains, just does what he is asked.

Because he isn't good, and he's a waste of a scholarship spot. He's not a good RB or DB, he's just there for depth purposes. That's pretty much the only reason we recruited him in 2009. No way in hell would he have gotten a scholarship in 2010, 2011, 2012, or beyond. Now he's coming off an ACL injury, IIRC, and he's never going to see the field again unless we're playing Alabama A&M, or someone of the like. It is what it is.

Pretty sure this is his last year of eligibility.

So you dont realize that not everyone is going to be a starter. Very gumpish statement. He is a good student athlete. Im glad he is in our program.

At our Junior Day he measured in at 5'9 1/2" and weighed in at 202 and he runs about a 4.4, maybe even a little better.

Typically you try to recruit people who will eventually start. He sucks. :dwi:

I don't see that kind of speed. He's not slow, but not a 4.4 or better guy

He just ran a F.A.T. 10.87 in the 100 Meters. He ran 11.04 as a 10th grader last year in finishing 3rd in the Cobb County 100m Finals. For reference, Patrick Peterson ran 10.92 and Julio Jones 11.13 as high school seniors.

Cobb County plays on a slow grade of Field Turf. I'm training a guy in his mid 20s for the Arena League and 3 weeks ago he ran 4.56 & 4.58 on the Field Turf. Then I had him run on the track that surrounds the field and he ran 4.37 and 4.38. I then raced him 4 times to confirm that he's a 4.3x guy....and he is indeed.

Watch Tyren's long runs and see the separation he gets on them. Nobody's catching him and he's play in what was deemed the best classification in the country by Rivals as 8-9 different Georgia AAAAA teams were in the Rivals top 100 at some point during the 2011 Season including his Walton team that rose to the top 25 and the team that gave Walton their only loss, Grayson (led by Robert Nkemdiche), in the AAAAA Championship Game.

85 scholarship and 22 starting spots. Need gump math to make everyone a starter.

Stop hating on our own guys. Not eveeryone is great but at least he is not AJ Greene level bad in that he cost us games. But how bad of a DB must AMG be if he cant beat out who we have now? Sometimes you need cannonfodder on a team to be on the scout. And if Leff can get a sholaship then so could AMG.

Jamar Travis is not great, but I want him to stick around. In fact he made an solo open field tackle in the NC game. (Remember because I had to look up who #74 was.)

Or just realize that a team is made up of 4 classes and the older guys will tend to be the starters. If you only have 22 guys that can start on your team is going to suck balls.

His high school is having an IntraSquad Meet on Friday. I plan to attend and will report his times. Not sure if he'll be running the 100m or 200m or both.....but you don't run 10.87 F.A.T and not run at least in the 4.4x.

2011 Combine Guys

Demarcus VanDyke- 4.28 at 2011 NFL Combine (10.61 F.A.T Career Best 100m)
DeMarcus VanDyke Track Stats

Patrick Peterson- 4.34 at 2011 NFL Combine (10.92 F.A.T. Career Best 100m)
Patrick Peterson (previously Johnson) Track Stats

Julio Jones- 4.39 at 2011 NFL Combine (11.13 F.A.T. Career Best 100m)
Julio Jones Track Times

Tyren Jones
Tyren Jones Track Stats

***Tyren's 10.87 for the Intra-Squad meet from 2 weeks ago is not shown due to it being Intra-Squad. I have corresponded with his AAU Track Coach that confirmed to me that he was there and saw the 10.87 F.A.T time.

That is the goal. But when one is missing an entire rcruiting class, like say Auburn 2008, it does not work out like that all the time.
