He's rethinking his "I'm a QB only" position, if he didn't it would keep from going to a bigger school. His offers were dwindling.

Yeah because LSU is great at developing QBs and all.

Hi
My name is Matt Canada, have we met?
Posted on 5/19/17 at 1:19 pm to thunderbird1100
Who has Canada developed? Serious question.

Arkansas first wanted him at OLB, but we told him he gets a shot at QB if that is what he wants. Austin does graduate next year, QB will be up for grabs. Where ever he goes we wish him well!

Serious Answer:
1. Nathan Peterman - UT transfer to Pitt, 5th round NFL pick
2. Jacoby Brissett - UF transfer to NCST, 3rd round NFL pick
3. Joel Stave - Wisconsin, Canada spent 1 year there which was Stave's freshman season, which was his best in terms of QB Rating in his career at 148.4
4. Chandler Harnish - Northern Illinois, 7th round NFL pick
5. Ben Chappell & Kellen Lewis - Indiana
6. Josh Haldi - Northern Illinois

Now compare that to Alex Smith, Josh Harris, Brian Johnson, Chris Leak, Tim Tebow, and Dak Prescott. Who would you rather be coached by, honestly?

You simply asked a question and I answered. I never proclaimed Mullen wasn't any good developing QBs, just that Canada has done very well developing QBs himself, he's basically never been given a highly talented guy. In fact, his last 2 stops have been throwaway backup QBs from other programs who transferred in that he coached up to be NFL draft picks. My point was, your comment was pretty dumb, Cam Cameron and Les Miles are long gone. There's a new guy in town.

They haven't proved anything at LSU yet.

Canada has a long track record with QBs, you can see it above. You cant just erase it because you want to. Erase Tebow and Smith off Mullen's list while you're at it.
It's not like Canada will have a tougher time here than schools like Pitt, NC ST, Northern Illinois...

None of the QBs you posted have had any type of success in the NFL, that's what developing is. Preparing them for the next level.

So why did you post Tim Tebow for Mullen? He was a huge NFL bust.
You're just making up what you want to now. Canada's job, as well as any QB coach/OC is to get what they can out of these guys in COLLEGE. What they do beyond that is up to them and how they adapt to whatever NFL offense they go to. College QB coaches do not develop college QBs into NFL offenses, they have no idea what offense they are even going to. They are developing them to fit their scheme, or adapt a scheme to best fit the QB.
Mullen didn't prepare Prescott for the NFL, his offense is nothing like NFL offenses or like Dallas'. He prepped him to fit his scheme and played to Dak's strengths. Dak took his talent to the next level and adapted well. Tebow took his talent to the next level and didn't. Both were very successful college QBs and doesnt change how they were developed in college what happened in the NFL. Both were developed well in college and played well in college. That doesn't get erased for Tebow because he was an NFL bust.

Is this really an argument? Mullen is a far superior QB developer.

He's arguing with himself about who is a better developer, nobody is arguing who is better besides him. He just made a dumb original comment about LSU not developing QBs, so I responded with who cares those guys aren't here anymore, Matt Canada is, and he asked who has Canada developed so I responded with who Canada has developed - a long line of good college QBs.
Since then he keeps going well off his rocker about irrelevant things like you arent developed if you dont do anything in the NFL and how Mullen is better.

I think Canada is good too. But I'd take Mullen over most if he were ever available. That includes a focused Kiffin.

I wouldn't disagree, but it's still totally irrelevant to the conversation we were originally having. It's just a deflection.

This could not be further from the truth.

“The offense we ran at Mississippi State was nothing short of an NFL offense,” Prescott said, per a report from USA Today’s Lorenzo Reyes. “The only thing that was different is that we didn’t go under center. I swear to you, in (pre-draft) visits, every play they showed me, I could name it. We just called it something different. At another team I visited, they ran the exact same stuff we ran.

If he doesn't choose the Hogs, I hope he goes out of the SEC. Hog defense is no good against athletic QBs like him.
