The word out of spring practice is that qbs Hosick and Zanders are better runners than Mauk and haven't looked too shabby as passers.

I don't know how you could tell they were better runners in spring practice. One hand touch on QBs is not conducive to measuring running ability.

It's just about as limited as spring practices, but I wouldn't disagree when it comes to Zanders. Hosick I just think is a different kind of runner. The kind that would just as soon lower his shoulder into ya but that could also find you on the sideline with shoulder surgery. I respect the hell out of Hosick for wanting to continue to compete at the QB spot but I so wish he'd consider a position change. He said he thinks he best helps the team as a QB but I'd argue that a 1st or 2nd string TE, LB or SS that is making plays on the field is helping the team more than a 4th string QB. Who knows. Maybe he proves me wrong, in which case good for him.

SS would be the perfect position for Hosick. Somehow we need to get his determination and talent on the field.

Zander's throwing motion looks a little strange to me. Almost like he's trying for too much of a quick release.

I loved the high school film on Lock. Has a strong arm and it really comes out with zip with more velocity than expected. Really impressed with his throws while rolling out to his left. Needs to put on some muscle weight, but other than that he looks great to me.
