Didn't Jones eventually get offered by Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, etc. during his senior year?

He did, but it wasn't until he committed to State. In fact, no one knew who he was until he committed to State, but that's not too uncommon. OM peeps on here are pissed because Dan got another elite player out from under their nose.

Jeffery Simmons is elite. Marquiss Spencer is not. Also, Simmons will look GREAT in red and blue.

Simmons is an elite talent. Spencer is an elite talent..and a year younger than Simmons with comparable-slightly better stats. Simmons could end up at DT. Spencer is a true pass rush DE 6'5 235.

The reason nobody offered him is because he wasn't responding to any letters. Turns out his high school coach was throwing them away(except for the state ones of course). That plus the furniture man in Houston made sure he and his family were well compensated.
