I don't think anyone questions that he committed to Auburn

But I don't see how you think CTJ was on top of Texas' recruiting board
Priority recruit.
Meaning he is someone that cannot be replaced.

Some A&M fans here already said he wasn't good enough for them and Texas is recruiting at a much higher level than aggy so don't you think he wouldn't be on top of Texas' board either
Unless Jimbo missed on a player.

Saying he is a priority recruit and this huge miss....

This is subjective
Based on what you want to believe.

As always some fanbases are looking to celebrate something that doesn't truthfully have anything to do with them.

Sounds like you made up your own definition of a priority recruit to fit this little agenda. He was recruited and thought a Texas lean for over a year. Just because y’all can start recruiting someone else now and he might be as good doesn’t mean he wasn’t a priority recruit for the Texas staff. Maybe go look up the definition of priority. It’s definitely not someone who can’t be replaced. Those are called elite prospects.

Priority means someone you must have.

Texas recruits 100 players a year.
That can't get everyone.

Some players jump on a ship because they don't want to be left out.

Because of the size of the class Texas has been extremely picky.
Especially with DBs.

Is he a LB?

That is where I am unsure and there is no proof that Texas considered him a #1 target at that position.

So you don’t know the definition of priority. Got it.

The amount of mental gymnastics Monty goes through to convince himself Texas is back is astounding

That matters more to Oklahoma and Texas A&M than it does to Texas.

Truthfully find this entire exchange funny because I follow Texas recruiting very close and get info from a few different sources and nothing you are saying makes any sense.

It is like me telling you that a certain player at Texas A&M was a priority recruit.

The term priority means it is a must have.

Don't think any player this early that isn't an elite player is a must have

Maybe after ESD.

Texas could easily go back and flip CTJ if needed IMO.

It’s funny to watch you make up definitions and do the mental gymnastics you’re doing. You definitely didn’t to to UT.

Yet you are the one who is claiming that he was Texas' #1 target.
At what position.

The question of what position Texas was recruiting him for is still up in the air.

Don't think even the Texas insiders have that info.
Everyone was wondering WTF last year at RB when the Texas staff made the decision to use Jordan Whittington as a RB.

Everything is up in the air.

I could easily say the Texas' staff pivoted from Thompson for someone else.

You could make the claim they processed him out before he even committed.

It's amazing how players who commit to teams not named Texas seem to drop shortly before they commit elsewhere.

They were recruiting him hard up until he committed, and they're still recruiting him. You have no idea what you're talking about.

How do you know.

Eric Nahlin and Inside Texas don't get the full facts
None of them do

Herman and his staff are very careful what they tell and who they tell.

Nobody gets full Texas recruiting "facts" except for Montgomery Hill on SECRant

Not even the Texas coaches, apparently

I already said I have no idea

But I have seen a common theme this cycle.

Let it all play out.

What do you mean you have no idea. I thought you said he sucked and would have been a lb at best but probably wasn't good enough for Texas. Not priority meaning Texas doesn't give two shits about him. Oh how the narrative changes when you get called out

Re read my first post

Never said he sucks.

Point is...

No one has really idea the direction programs are going.
Some coaches give up more information while others do not.

From what I have seen this cycle is a lot of smoke and mirrors with Texas.

From what I heard they saw CTJ as a LB
Was he #1 on their board. I have no idea. I am in wait and see.

They may think Jackson and Hullaby are linebackers or Josh White who is a LSU commit is still open.
I think White is still planning a OV to Austin.
