Likely just one. Likely looking at Pro Style QBs though with Helton, wouldn't be shocked if we made a run at Matt Corral.

You'd have to be quick, believe he's set to sign and enroll early.

was just a guess, no idea who Helton and co. are looking at. Would imagine they've got someone in mind since they tossed out a gitshirt already.

Agreed... unless you just really don't see a fit, you don't usually toss a committed recruit aside without an idea of who would replace him in the class. Just thinking that with Corral committing and signing in about a week, unlikely to be him. Seems to have doubled down on UF commitment at this time.

Would assume pro-style ish QB though would be the target under Helton?

Helton told our other QB commit that he was running a pro style offense, so it's safe to say whoever they go after will have had little to no prior contact with VOLS

frick it... rip the carpet out from under them and go steal Trevor Lawrence... he grew up a Vols fan, right? Pruitt would fricking melt faces if he and the staff managed to pull that off. You guys wouldn't be able to hold your dicks to piss for a month.

Dunno if Joe Milton might be in the cards now with Michigan taking Patterson's transfer? Probably wouldn't impact him much though... Lower down the list might be Carter Bradley out of Jacksonville, FL.

Lol Gitmo is slow as molasses, I have no idea how he wasn't considered a pro style QB coming out of HS. Think there is a chance he will be very much improved under a real QB coach in a pro style offense, and not running the read option abortion we've endured the past 5 annums.

Yeah, It sounds like him and Taylor already hit it off. I expect him to improve over time. It certainly helps knowing your the guy going forward so the team will be his from day 1. I would laugh if ya'll pulled Corral after what old Mullen did.

Hopefully we can steal Copeland from Bama, think Gitmo would enjoy throwing to Callaway, Jennings, Taylor, and Copeland next year instead the slop he had this past year. None of our receivers sans Callaway were capable of creating any separation last season.

From the shape of your OL, who he's throwing to will be the least of his worries next year, especially if they shift to a pro-style offense. New coaches, new blocking schemes, snaps under center, play action, new WR routes, and, with the exception of one OG, an OL in flux. That may feel like water boarding to Gitmo.

We're likely getting a grad transfer from Cal to play guard, as well as Jahmir Johnson ( 247) and Johncarlo Valentin ( 247). That, along with them finally having a legitimate OL coach, and I think we will be at the very least serviceable on the OL next year.

I don't mean to sound like I'm trolling, but given the nature of fan relations I know it sounds that way. But, the hurdles for your offense next season, and probably part of 2019, are very high. If they do recruit really well, I can see the chance for substantial improvement during the 2018 season. But this transition will be difficult.

I'm still amazed that Smart and company turned it around so well this year, and even still a bit skeptical they can keep it going without future hiccups. UT faces a steeper learning curve, for players and coaches, than Georgia did, IMO.

Yeah the old patch work OL using transfers. Been there. Kids are never as good as you hope they are but they are usually serviceable. Just have to hope the new staff gets some talent on the roster and the kids that are there improve and do the best you can. I know ya'll aren't looking at anything below 3 stars on the roster so ya'll should be ok.
