Good Lord we need some of you as fans.

Very refreshing to see knowledgable fans not bashing recruits

He didn't want anyone to visit him that day. Aranda got the message after he landed and told him it was cool and he'd stick around for a little while in case he changed his mind. Other schools didn't take it as well and Monty liked the way Aranda handled it. That's according to Shea Dixon who said it on the radio.

Well played by Aranda. I think that shows how undecided he was until late. A small gesture late sealed the deal then

Crazy.

Just not LSU's week

Supposedly this is one of the things that sold him to LSU. Turns out to be a genius move by Aranda

Yup. I thought it was him getting stood up and showed Rice was done with it all but turns out the gesture is what helped make the difference. Props to Aranda

Aranda with the Jedi mind trick. A little good news may help some of these clowns to calm down.

I heard Monty is a really quiet kid, I bet he and Aranda have very similar personalities. They kept his OV to LSU last Monday and Tuesday on the low.

This is one case of a recruit committing to a coach instead of a school or other factors.

Some recruits actually want to be treated with respect and civility! Thanks to Coach Aranda!

I think LSUs current LB situation played into it as well... Great scheme combined with available PT made LSU an attractive option.

After striking out on top linebacker targets such as 5-star prospect Dylan Moses and 4-star talent Christopher Allen, LSU settled on one of the more underrated inside backer prospects in the country in Monty Rice.

Rice, who was silently committed to Georgia, committed to LSU over the Bulldogs and Auburn on Dec. 12, a decision he told SEC Country was made the Sunday night prior to his Monday announcement.

“I just went with my heart,” Rice said. “I just went with what felt best. Coach (Dave) Aranda is just an awesome dude. I just thought real hard about it. I went where my heart kept coming back to.”

Rice’s high school coach texted a Georgia staffer after the announcement to inform the Bulldogs that his 3-star linebacker had committed to the Tigers.

Now, insert the drama …

Georgia’s commits continue to court Rice. So has the school, a source told Georgia recruiting writer Jeff Sentell. I’ve confirmed as much — that Rice could make his way back into Georgia’s class.

He was once silently committed, so it isn’t such a novel idea. Georgia was the frontrunner for Rice through the majority of his recruitment. Rice made his inaugural visit to LSU on Nov. 19 for the Florida game, then took a mid-week official visit back on Dec. 5.

Nothing has happened … yet. It’s just something to keep an eye on.

Good for Kirby- this reminds me of him flipping 3 star David Marshall from auburn last year. Marshall panned out, and I'm sure rice will as well.

Maybe.

Whoever is getting him, Georgia or LSU, is getting a stud. I wish we had room for him.
