Chose Ole Miss over some schools, but definitely not Florida for sure. No seriously

JUCO DL Dorian Gerald has said he wanted to play with Jefferson in the past. Both were set to visit Florida this weekend.

We weren't able to get Jefferson in academically. Don't know if that will impact Gerald, believe there are still some questions around being able to get him in as well.

Need to get Gerald to drop his UF visit and visit Oxford instead.

It's been known for a while, they were waiting to see if he would be cleared for the visit. I would have liked to have added him to the class, but it is what it is.

He's a good pick up for Ole Miss

They would've known about his grades situation after the fall semester.

Not going to go round and round on this, it's not a huge deal. He wasn't able to qualify, so the visit couldn't happen. It's a pretty regular occurrence, the JUCO requirements are different.

JUCOs aren’t that cut and dry.

It’s not like initial qualifiers out of HS.

He wasn't going to qualify. Was made clear two weeks ago.

It's why we now lead for better players. Just like Corral, we let Ole Miss have what we no longer wanted. Should try to keep up more. Unlike Miss State, Florida can actually get elite players.

Elite players?

What was the record of said "elite players" this year?

Mac didn't recruit many elite players.

It's why he got fired.

As for Noah. We cancelled his visit because of his academic standing. Wasn't stolen. Kid was a UF commit just like Corral.

Ironically this is the second time Ole Miss fans have gotten their panties in a bunch over taking Florida's seconds. Corral was immediately replaced with Emory Jones and in Corral's own words said that Mullen hadn't pursued him.

Similarly, Noah Jefferson has been an Academic risk for a little while. They're not bad players, but Jefferson has indeed had serious problems qualifying.

Noah Jefferson - JUCO - Would be a take, but grade concerns are leading to people pulling their crystal balls from him. This will be a theme with the JUCO players, who have a history of struggling to get into UF with our academic standards and the dreaded math course that we require.

''Chose Ole Miss over Florida and others'' -- should update your post.

Mullen didn't pursue AJ Brown. Let that sink in.

It was very sweet of Mullen to fly himself and other coaches out to Cali to let Matt know at his house that he wasn't being pursued the monday before early signing

We talked about this in the other thread: I personally prefer Corral to Jones. I don't think Jones has the wheels that Corral has, nor the raw quarterback talent (passing wise) but he is ranked higher than Corral.

Corral, himself, literally said that Mullen didn't even bother to call him after taking his first in-house visit to Justin Fields. It took Mullen (I believe Corral said) 3 weeks to even establish contact with Corral.

Congratulations on what I think is a good quarterback, but you guys basically won a battle no one was actually fighting, likewise with Noah Jefferson who wasn't going to qualify at Florida.

If it will ease the sensitive Florida fans, I will remove Florida from the original post
