As of late last night, both LSU writers on 24/7 were saying Ish hadn't notified the staff either way.

Wrong thread for this. Sophser is the top ranked DT in the country and from Louisiana. The two teams competing for his signature are Alabama and LSU, with both schools' most trusted insiders calling him for their school.

I was referring to the Vol fellow on the LSU Recruiting Board, who followed up Tim Watts' prediction by digging his feet in on Sophser going to LSU.

Yes, he says it's a done deal for Ish and that a spot is being held for his brother next year. Perhaps he was speaking of someone else about the staff being notified, but he seems as sure as he can be. Even our 247 guys are saying Bama, so we'll see.

He's been around for a year and a half, but has been relied on by the board for information pretty frequently.
Who would you say is the best recruiting "insider" on Tigerdroppings?

Personally, hard to really trust anyone. There have been a lot that have come and gone and got outed as fake insiders. Who's to say vol isn't just another one of those. I dont think it's clear cut he definitely has his own line of information or is just taking it from paid sources and bringing it to the board and filling some gaps.
To me, it was a little weird he refused to join the Geaux247 board when offered free membership, just sayin...
He could be a legit insider, but it's pretty easy to fake it these days too for a short time at least.

Nobody follows LSU Recruiting like you do, so I'd say you are our most reliable insider.

As far as the best LSU insiders go, that would be me. I know everything.
From what I am hearing:
- Ish is waiting to hear from LSU.
- If he commits to LSU, then we wanted him.
- If he commits to Alabama, then we really didn't have a commitable offer for him and he is likely overrated.

I want to get on record so people dont call me butthurt later:
I want Sopsher for the fact it will be an in-state recruiting win vs a team that has done a great job of stealing our talent.
However, I think he is going to be a bust. He looks slow and underwhelming to me against good competition

Good “insiders” don’t stay on public message boards for long, for obvious reasons. So the answer is nobody. I get real info from other places.
