If Auburn were in the picture, you'd be inclined to believe he was shopping his brother

Glad to see GT consistently being mentioned in actual steps towards signing rather than click bait rumors and last weeks cancelled visit to UGA.

GT gets OV? Check.
Cal gets OV? Check.
Cal gets FA signed? Check
GT gets FAA signed? Check.

UGA OV? Nope.
UGA mentioned to get FA signed? Nope.
UGA OV cancelled? Yes x6 could be more

I find it laughable at this point, he and his people have pulled the biggest troll job of the recruiting cycle. I bet they are having a ball over all this and kicking back laughing their asses off.

Me personally if I had my choice of living in San Fran or Atl. the next 3-5 yrs it would be a no brainer, N. Cali all day and twice on Sunday.

I'd agree but Stanford very non-San Francisco-ish and Cal on the other side of the bridge with a very different vibe as well.

But Bay Area vs. Atlanta? No contest.

I had a feeling his decision might come out of left field, Cal is a top notch academic institution so that fits one criteria he and his bro are looking for. We shall see if he makes his OV to Athens on the 18th, his whole family including his sister are supposed to come along. I believe she is getting a track scholly from UGA unless something has changed. I doubt he has got his latest SAT results back, he stated after his OV to Tuscy Stanford was still his top choice but he did not mention Cal or Tech at all.

Cal may very well be a top notch academic school but not for their athletes. They are near the top in granting academic waivers, their only real criteria for athletes is to get them through the clearinghouse, push the athletes in to certain majors, and still only graduate around 44% of them. That grad number is even lower for African American athletes.

With "1-6 former students being millionaires", who wouldn't come to Tech?

click bait rumors

Essentially 99.9% of every article ever written about recruiting is clickbait... it is the engine that fuels their subscriptions, advertisements, and correspondingly paychecks. This is no different. Getting a FAA signed second means little more than getting the OV originally, which is to say that you're in consideration. Until DRob tells people otherwise, UGA is also "in consideration", along with Bama and Notre Dame. I'm not sure why this seems to be so hard for you to follow.

Stanford is his top choice, but it appears may be out of reach. Outside of that, it doesn't even seem clear that DRob knows how he would rank other schools. You could of course try to rationalize that signing a FAA is indicative of some likelihood of retaining his services, so you and Cal are on equal playing fields currently, but it's not like he hasn't indicated that he would not be signing additional FAAs? Also, rewind about a week or so and it was direct DRob quotes indicating Alabama, UGA, Notre Dame all even at #2. "But don't count out Cal or GT'. I return to my previous statement... the circus continues.

What I am finding interesting is that while initially it seemed like he was just trying to make the best decision for his future, more recently it does seem to have trended more toward the attention seeking "me me me" realm. Things quiet down a bit and then he, or Carlos, or someone has a nugget of information to share to get him front and center. Granted some of that is likely driven by the recruiting channels looking to get a scoop, but at this point, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the kid will likely not play much in the way of meaningful snaps in 2016 at all... paralysis by analysis extends beyond just choosing a school.

Kid should just continue to do what he is doing, wait until the last day to enroll..........call a ceremony at his HS.......walk in......look around......pick up microphone..........say "Ole Miss" as he pulls the Rebel hat from underneath the table..........drop mic........walk out

Would be the greatest troll effort and Jimmie rustlage ever created all in one day.

Really good article from Jeff Sentell of DawgNation. Goes through the recruitment and has a backstory of what makes Robertson different.

quote:

Those three big selling points are still in play. UGA is the best spot where he can go to school with his twin sister. He can enable a bright future for both of them. She runs track. Robertson also has a strong relationship with a majority of UGA’s signees and goes back a long way with assistant Glenn Schumann and coach Kirby Smart.

I feel he’ll either make the score at Stanford or wind up at UGA or Alabama. That’s seems logical, but the only decision that matters is what makes the most sense to him.

Demetris is already 2-for-2 at that. Wish him luck. Let him chill. He’s doing this his own way and will be playing somewhere this fall. We can all be sure of that.

I only check the thread to see what our resident GT poster has to say because it is pure entertainment. Last week articles came out that did not mention GT so of course he did not post. Now something is out about GT and he posting like it is a win for GT. It is nothing then click bait to be honest because nothing has changed because he still uncommitted. But since it mentioned GT in a positive manner it is not click bait.

The sad part though is GT is still a fall back if he does not end up on the west coast. First GT was a fall back for Stanford and now Cal. So GT is nowhere closer then signing him than UA or UGA.

If for some reason Tech manages to land him, I think the NCAA will come calling.Dont forget the maggots have been on probation twice in the last few years.

Bottom line, Tech should never land a 5 star, much less an in state 5 star. If they do it is more than just a fluke. It is pretty good evidence that something fishy is going on.
