2016 Five Star QB Shea Patterson -- Calvary Baptist (Shreveport, LA)
Why would he even want to play in the LSU offense?
Yes, why LSU never threw the ball with Jamarcus Russell and Matt Flynn!

Chance at SEC and National championships
Great chance of getting drafted
100, 000 fans cheering for you on Saturday nights
...to name an obvious few.

You can throw jabs about SEC Championships and what not, but a great chance at the NFL? Lulz. It doesn't matter where you go anymore. Ole Miss is going to have at least three first rounders next year, maybe four to five.
LSU's offense is outdated for the most part though and fits nothing that Shea does best. Shea's attributes thrive in a spread, zone-read style offense.
Y'all had two of the best receivers in the country last year and an NFL starting QB and still couldn't finish ahead of us in passing offense (or total offense). That's sad.

One one hand LSU doesn't have a great track record of developing QBs on the other hand Ole Miss hasn't developed a good high school QB since Eli manning

Exactly. Cam had a NFL QB, Two Pro Bowl Rookie WRs, A starting rookie NFL RB, and an outstanding SEC offensive line and couldn't do shite on offense. Then followed that season up with last years, let's hand the ball off 60+ times a game because I can't develope a QB, shite show.
No QBs wants to go to LSU to hand the football off 50 times a game.

Do some of you people actually follow football outside of your home arena?

...and it's very arguable whether Ole miss actually "developed" Manning. His dad provided most of the developing before he even committed to the Rebs.

Hmm, when was the last time ole miss had a 3,000 yard passer, two - 1000 yard receivers and 1,000 yard back in the same season?

How did that game turn out in Oxford?

Still waiting on some LSU fan to respond to how their offense is terrible to watch, is outdated, and really underperforms relative to the talent they bring in.

Gonna be some good OM/LSU message board battles over this kid

Rebs, delusional as usual.
If he goes to OM, we have Franks anyway who could end up being as good or better. If we get Shea, thats even better.
I'm not even really following his recruitment closely tbh

It will all be worked out by the summer camps. Franks has the build that MLB scouts love, and that would make things awfully simple. I think the Sean thing is overplayed, like someone else said he'll probably take a job in a smaller conference soon where he will be really given responsibilities and not be just a play for his brother. Shea's decision will likely come down to depth charts and coaching relationships, so I like LSU's chances. Cam isn't dumb, he'll go all in on the player he thinks is the best before it's too late.
Luckily it seems as though the Patterson's dad is a level-headed guy. I'm tired of dealing with crazy parents or parents that make the decisions themselves. It seems like that won't be a problem at all for Shea.
