How did Mcllwain slide? I thought he was 3rd?
247 ranked the top 7v7 guys from yesterday's drills and had McIlwain ranked #2. This list I posted above is from the Elite 11 Coaches on their twitter feed. McIlwain was 10th yesterday and he's 10th today. Costello fell some spots, Russo jumped him, Eason fell and Starkel went up along with Haskins. They still have a couple days left.

How's Guarantano doing?

I would assume pretty good, since they have him in the top 5 after both days. I watched his 7v7 drill and that's all that I saw.

He went 4-6 2 TD's and almost had 1 picked off, but the DB dropped it in the endzone...unless the DB says the pass was too wobbly to intercept, then it was a bad throw.

That's why elite 11 means so little, dude's sitting back there for much longer than he would get with a pass rush.

I cant stress enough how completely irrelevant the Elite 11 is in showing how good a QB will be in college. Generally about half of the Elite 11 finalists are garbage in college. Even some MVPs amount to nothing. Neal Burcham was coMVP with Jameis Winston back in 2011 and the dude ended up at SMU and looks like he's 3rd string going into his 4th year there.
Asiantii Woulard won the Finals MVP in 2012.
...who? Exactly.
This competition is so useless as any sort of indicator of college success. It's good for the kids to work with experienced coaches and get some training they might otherwise not receive, but that's about it.

I believe Eason and Patterson also had 2 drops a piece... FWIW. They can't throw and catch the ball
With that logic both of LSU's QBs would be first team All SEC.
Oh wait...

Your post makes no sense. Are you saying LSU's QB troubles are solely due to drops?

Solely? of course not.
But LSU WR had the most drops of any season that I can recall in the last 10 years.

For every ball that was dropped there was probably 15-30 either sailed over someone's head or spiked into the dirt.

Brandon McIlwain at Elite 11: Gamecocks QB commit impresses during event LINK …
quote:
We reached out to ESPN's Tom Luginbill and SBNation's Bud Elliott for their thoughts. Here's what Luginbill had to say about what he saw in McIlwain:
McIlwain is a savvy, playmaking quarterback who can beat you with his arm, feet or decision-making. He is very similar to former Gamecock Connor Shaw. While McIlwain lacks ideal measurables (he is really on the short side), he is tough and highly competitive and gives Steve Spurrier that running threat he wants under center. Very active and snappy delivery with a live arm. Doesn't wow you with physical measurables of imposing passing prowess, but he is very heady and highly competitive. His game resembles Missouri's Maty Mauk and so does his stature.
Elliott also had some favorable things to say:
Brandon isn't the highest ceiling player at the Elite 11, but he had a strong showing on day two. He moved his feet well to keep himself in position to deliver an accurate ball. He held his own among some stiff competition.

Um no they didn't. Patterson just is overrated. 6'1" 195, 5 second 40. Not gonna lite up the SEC. Will be serviceable at most. He blamed his poor performance on a sunburn.

Patterson isn't doing well in these 7v7 games the past couple of days either.
