Kaiser, I don't think this guy has cornered the market on obsession or making false statements. Its been pretty much a 2 way street now for over a 100 years.

I don't disagree, but it seems to be a one-way street lately, with the revisionist history coming from one side, The Alcalde in particular.

I don't mean to become the Aggie version of Randolph Duke here, but this article attempting to "debunk" the Bevo naming TRUTH is full of shite. The author claims that the branding didn't occur until the next year, but if you look at page 102 of the Acalde, context provides the proof.

It states at the end of the first fill paragraph: "Bevo is his name. Long may he reign!

Then it says: "The score was 21 to 7. Let that pass."

Let what pass?

They branded Bevo on one side that year with 13-0. t.u. handlers fixed it by changing the 13 to a "B" a "V" in the middle, etc.

The branding that the author is referring to is the SECOND branding the next year, AFTER t.u. handlers cleaned up the original 13-0 brand. Otherwise, why would the Alcalde article need to reference the score of THAT game and then say "let that pass." Because when they introduced Bevo, he was branded with the 13-0 score. They were saying, "hey, longhorns. You know the score was 21 to 7. Let that branding incident pass.

Now, somebody commit me to an institution. I am officially the Maroon Randy Duke.

Dodds ruined the program, but most fans can't see it yet. They will

I've gotten downvoted into oblivion and accused of being a troll the last two times I've brought this point up on reddit and 247. Dodds literally fricked us by trying to keep the Big XII together instead of jumping ship to a better and more stable conference

So which conference do you think UT should have gone to?

Personally, I would have liked to have seen us go with A&M to the SEC, but I have no idea how realistic that actually would have been. This would be purely for me to be able to see more UT games on TV since I lived in Georgia and now go to Auburn.

If I were to pick between the two more feasible options of the PAC and B1G, I'd probably say the B1G, provided that OU came with us, since we'd get to play Nebraska again, and would also see games with tOSU, UM, and MSU, which would be awesome.

That's just me though

Well yeah, no one else would take his baby (the LHN). For better or worse he tied his legacy to that network.

In a way, we screwed them as did the rest of the NCAA when we drew attention to their attempt to broadcast HS football on their own network.
