I wouldn't say invading. NBamaAlum is probably the best bama poster on the rant.

Fortt would've probably had a difficult time learning the defense in that brief of a period if he'd come in anyway, so I'm not sure how much he would have contributed. Plus he would take away reps from the younger guys who desperately need them this season.
Yeah, from what I've read, Fortt hadn't really picked up the PSU defense in 2 years.
And he was supposed to walk in and pick up BVG's defense in 3 weeks?

BM seems to believe it will be tray matthews
I'll go with montravious. Please!
So, in a hypothetical world where you had only one scholarship to give and the candidates were Tray Matthews and Montravious Adams, who do you pick?
Nothing against Matthews cuz he is a bad-arse, but I'd take Adams all day, every day.

yeah but the turds are already invading that thread after only a few hours.
I understand, but you know what is up if we continue to bring it in this thread. I am only suggesting, obviously every poster may choose to do what they want.

So you think this is BVG's defense?
I remember you being pretty adamant that we were running Chizik's defense when Roof was here. I believe you said the defense was "Chizik's baby."
Have you changed your opinion or has Chizik changed his head coaching responsibilities since BVG was hired?

Everyone wanted him because they remember the name from that recruitng cycle. The fact that he averaged less than 1 tackle per game was oblivious to most.

Didn't Fortt just have knee surgery or something too?

The #1 DT prospect in the country? Absolutely.

Yeah this past spring. Had no effect on his play. He was a backup at PSU (probably because they had great depth).

Highly regarded out of high school, Fortt made 11 tackles in his only career start, as a freshman. He had 33 tackles and 2.5 sacks while playing in every game last season as a top backup.

+1 and especially the bolded portion. I've defended Jake quite a few times on here and other boards but the recent comments from CBVG are very concerning. He struggled getting us lined up against Utah State and it continued throughout the season until they benched him. It was really evident after the Arkansas game when we were up 7 or 14 early. They went to the hurry up, we couldn't get lined up on defense and the rest is history.
There were times last year where he was still barking out calls to the left and right while the offense had already snapped the ball.
That has absolutely nothing at all to do with injuries.

-Matthews is ours, expect something within the month
-Adams is ours, silent 'til Jan - Feb
-We'll get our pick between Green and Bryant

Come on, don't be so hard on the guy. He's a fan of a school that is letting nearly all of the elite talent out of state once again. You'd be upset too.

Im more concerned about the OL than Frazier. Starting 2-3 freshman along the OL is going to hurt. We have to be able to run the ball to take pressure off of Frazier.
Fortunately, its easier for big ol' hogs that are smart to pick up physical run schemes IMO.
