Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't this whole Lawson thing start with an AU fan (T I G E R) on tBB? Is this rumor coming from other places than that?

if they were THAT good of friends, Bama would've been more of a player for him early on. It's not like this is some brand new relationship the past few weeks.

The friendship would only work that way if Bama was pushing for him initially. The connection didn't matter if he wasn't that high on the board.

Now it does matter if the information is true and they've decided to pursue. IF the information is true...

Damn tuck, long time no see

And I asked the same question to someone last night. It came from someone just on BOL/247, then it came from someone BIG.

No, but my point is positional. If someone had aspirations at another position at one time, don't you think his ears will be open a bit to it? Even the slightest bit?

Because 2-3 teams are supposedly are about to start pushing on that...

And it won't matter IMO.

I'm not talking about you Magilla, but I love how some people will just run with a rumor like this. They hear Bama might push for Lawson to play LB, and people automatically think that he will change his mind and rather play LB at Bama or UT, before he even says anyhing about it. Hell, it could happen and Lawson could say "Nah, no thanks" and it's crushed. I have no problem with Bama or UT fans thinking they have a chance, but there has to be some solid evidence behind it. And there is none at this point

You, or whomever has the information on this, believes these certain school are just now preparing to pitch that position to him? That's awfully convenient because if this is true, then Lawson has yet to consider the position.

All I'm saying is that Lawson and his father both know that position very well. They're not just now dabbling in figuring it out and they're not just now about to be recruited for the position. I'm saying that your information, if true, is old and whomever is distributing information that coaches would just now be recruiting him for the JACK LB position are working on information over a year old.

Hope this helps your understanding of the situation.

It's just something to wait and see with/disregard until proven plausible. It's recruiting, it could all be a mountain out of a mole hill or Lloyd Christmas "Are you saying there's a chance?" when it's 1 out of a million.

And with that, I'm off to Gadsden for a bit...

It is if he wasn't previously recruited hard or if at all. Lawson wasn't always this top prospect, some teams looked him over and passed initially. And it's not that they are just now pitching him the position, it's the fact they are gonna pry at his interest in it.

Smoke gives your ribs a nice flavor and fire just chars the shite out of them.

You're naive if you think coaches from Alabama, Tennessee, and other 3-4 defenses haven't talked to Lawson and his father recently about becoming a LB at the next level. I see scenarios like this pop up all the time for recruits like Lawson after they blow up a camp. Suddenly, new sources come out with new information about their team's new interest in said recruit. Everybody has an inside edge and everyone's team has a twist on the position that plays to said recruit's strength.

My point: Lawson has been considering making the transition to a LB in the 3-4 position and his recruitment for that position has been continuous. I do not doubt that your guys may just now be picking up on this, but just because it is new to them does not make it new to Carl. What I'm saying doesn't make him any more or any less likely to flip. I'm just giving the kid and his father the credit they deserve for knowing their shite.

It's not like his interest in the position waned because no one was recruiting him for it. Sunseri has been selling him the JACK role in UT's new defense the entire time. And he still chose to be a DE at Auburn over it. And like I posted earlier, he said it would take something drastic to happen with Auburn for him to go anywhere else. While Bama may not have been recruiting him, the JACK role isn't going to be a new thing when Bama introduces it to him

MG, in all seriousness, good luck in Gadsden. I have some very extended relatives in Hokes Bluff that I see every few years.
