I wanted him at Bama so bad, his recruitment is what brought me to TD in the first place.

He ended up kinda having a meh career at LSU.

JJ and J Lee. And he just missed the 1st round... But with Eli, I can see him having a 1500 yard season and not break a sweat.

Hadn't talked to the TD gods about it, but I wouldn't mind doing it.

ETA: 17340 posts.
137 days in, 240 to go.
Little over 6 pages a day average.

Estimation based on average is 2308 pages.

One would have to think its gonna slow down a bit. Especially when the season starts, plus like you said we only have 8-9 spots left.

I've been out of the loop since Friday evening. Weekend trip with the girlfriend. What the Hell has gone on for 45 pages of stuff?

We got a commitment from a JUCO LT on Saturday and Derrick Henry visited this weekend. A lot of back and forth with UGA fans and differing of opinions on where Henry will end up.

Darius Paige, three-star defensive tackle from Washington High School in Pensacola, Fla., was a surprise commitment to the 2011 BCS National Champions in mid-May. Paige is a physical defender who was recruited to play nose guard for the University of Alabama. He talked more of his camp experience.

quote:

"The Alabama camp was pretty good," said Darius Paige. "I went up there Sunday and stayed until Wednesday. I learned some new moves that will get me some extra tackles and sacks this year."

Paige enjoyed competing with other top prospects in Tuscaloosa. He also enjoyed working with his future position coach.

"I got to interact with all the other big-time prospects," he said. "I liked that. It was good working out with the coaching staff. They told me I need to work on my technique. Overall they said I am doing pretty good.

"Coach Rumph is a pretty good guy. He is the type of guy who won’t ever let me quit. I talked to coach Saban for a little bit while I was there. He was just telling me what is going to be expected of me when I get up there."

Paige measured 6-foot-3.5, 297-pounds at Alabama’s camp. He is solid with his commitment and does not plan to take any other visits.

I am not sure it will slow down TBH. I think the majority of the recruits UA has on top all plan on commiting by the end of the summer. If we land them and if our class will be full before the season starts give or take a spot.

For those asking about M Thomas from Rivals.

"I just really go hard at it," Thomas said. "I go all out every time out. I love the game. I want to make my impact felt on the field every time I go out there."

Thomas has a desire to be a perfectionist and is a student of the game. As a junior, Thomas racked up 117 tackles and 13 sacks, but he is looking to improve upon those numbers as a senior.

"When I look at the film, I look at the plays that I missed," Thomas said. "I don't really watch the positive plays, I watch the ones where I didn't make the play or do my job. I want to get better, so I look at those plays to see what I missed or did wrong."

Thomas, who is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the talent-rich Sunshine State, said his primary focus over the summer is helping his team prepare for another run at the state championship. Last season, Booker T. Washington lost in the Class 4A state championship game to Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles.

"We have some new faces, so we are working on becoming a better team," Thomas said. "We just want to win, we want to win it all. We want to win a state championship, but we know it starts with winning our first game and then our next game and then the next."

Thomas says that he will participate in some 7-on-7 events with his teammates. He also expects to visit or camp at Alabama, Florida State, and possibly Miami during the summer. During the spring, Thomas named a top five of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, and Miami.

"I am looking at all of the schools that offered me," Thomas said. "Those five, though, do stand out. But I like other schools as well, they just aren't in my top five."

"I don't have a leader really," Thomas added. "I could say one, but I really like all of the colleges in my top five. They are all really doing a good job recruiting me."

It looks like Derrick Henry will announce rather soon. Nkemdiche should announce sometime in the next month or two. Josh McNeil is scheduled to announce July 5th at the Opening. DeMarcus Walker and Brendan Langley both said they would announce their decisions in August. Matthew Thomas said he will take his time and probably won't announce until at or around NSD. Robert Foster could announce at any time. Laremy Tunsil will wait until NSD. Kendell Beckwith plans to announce at the Under Armour game and I think Tim Williams said he would announce at the Army game. Walker Jones said he would have a decision by the end of the summer. Did I miss anyone?

I think that about covers it.

Off topic, but Terry Grant has opened a restaurant in Ft. Walton Beach. Wish I was in the area this summer to check it out.
