Signing McLeod says two things about this recruiting class. 1) the remaining numbers are tight and those wanting a spot best be staying tight with the staff. 2) staff must be happy with our depth at most other spots since they did not feel the need to save this one.

Well with the ginger QB we have 16 on board... so at most we can get 8 more.
Langley
Nkemdiche
Matthew Thomas
Derrick Henry
Demarcus Walker
Leon Brown
Walker Jones/Josh McNeil
Kamara/Robert Foster
Tunsil being a longshot, but if he wanted in, who gets told to look around?
Crowder as well

Once you get into the Top 5 or 10 players at a position, it's usually just splitting hairs. IMO, no high 4 stars can be called underrated

I'm starting to think that he is going to end up elsewhere unless he is willing to greyshirt.

Agreed.
Have you seen his highlight tape though? If not I suggest you do. It's a fun one.

Gotta think Josh McNeil may work into that list as well. Except for a couple of spots it is pretty much down to first come first serve (once CNS give the ok to commit)

Forgot about McNeil damnnn, going to get interesting...

I can live with this list. Stayed out of Louisiana and the other kids we're targeting.

Harrison was slated for a greyshirt at first, entirely possible those exact plans have been discussed with the Jones clan for Walker. Guess we will have to see if he is willing to take a scholly from MS St or pass it up to wait 6months before coming to T-town. If you hear nothing from him by mid season, expect him to choose the greyshirt.

Wouldn't count Hand in your class just yet. There are some things with him that haven't come to the surface just yet. Not that Bama or any school would have an issue with it but it can lead to insane levels of unpredictability. I do agree with both things TheSystem posted though I wouldn't consider the lead huge.
Congrats on Smith. Good get. I think his future is S unless you guys are gonna sacrifice man to play more zone. The Menzie comparison was a good one. He could get by in that role as well as Menzie did.
Everyone knows some level of shady went down with TR and honestly, who cares? Every school that was on him knew what was up and all were more than willing to play by his rules. The stories referring to some last minute convincing do hold some truth. Not quite as illicit as some of the stories go but there were some liberties taken in the final 24 hours.
Don't see what the big deal is concerning the Nkemdiche interview, from either side. LSU fans are just looking for some glimmer of hope and Bama fans are looking for a reason to flaunt their arrogance, which in this instance isn't meant as a knock because it has been earned. Anyone who really thinks Nkemdiche is concerned about where Upshaw fell are fooling themselves. He's nothing like Upshaw. He's significantly taller and will blow by 270. Quite frankly Nkemdiche will not even be evaluated the same as Upshaw. He's a DE/DT for NFL people whereas Upshaw was/is a tweener OLB/DE. I don't get the comparison at all.
I also fully am a believer in the Bleacher Report stuff and it not being very credible but that doesn't mean that there aren't instances of good reporting on there. Imo ESPN.com is just as useless as BR. It's all opinion or secondhand info.
FTR, I will consider Nkemdiche Bama's until he signs elsewhere. Not betting on it and have told my fellow LSU fans to curtail their hopes and expectations. They're setting themselves up for unnecessary angst.

Just be careful how loudly you say that. CNS might be listening and in the mood to screw with your emotions.

Alabama added its sixteenth member of the class of 2013 on Friday afternoon with Marietta (Ga.) Walton quarterback Parker McLeod committing to the Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder pulled the trigger after speaking with Nick Saban a few days after throwing at Alabama’s prospect camp.
McLeod threw for 18 touchdowns and 4 interceptions as a junior at Walton.
“There wasn’t really anything specific- it was just everything about Alabama. I just fell in love with it when I went over there. It was the perfect fit for me all around,” said McLeod
“When I went to camp, I just thought that it would be the place for me. All I needed was for Coach Saban to give me the approval. I called them later in the week and he gave me the go ahead and I committed on the spot.”
The Peach State signal caller is both happy and relieved to put an end to his recruitment.
“It just feels awesome. It hasn’t sunk in yet, but I’m just so excited. It’s also a big relief off my shoulders to have this process over with. I’m really excited to be committed to Alabama.”
McLeod manages an efficient, high-powered pro-style offense at Walton and feels his experience operating in an offense similar to Alabama’s will pay dividends in at the next level.
“Definitely- I think it’s the ideal offense for me. It’s very similar to what we do at Walton, so I think I should be able to transition pretty well. They were already really high on me before camp- I think it was just more confirmation when I got there and performed like I did. I think Coach Saban wanted to see me throw. They said they liked everything about me- my accuracy, my footwork, my mechanics, and my consistency.”
McLeod is looking forward to continuing to play alongside his high school teammate and Alabama running back commit Tyren Jones, who joined the quarterback in Tuscaloosa earlier this week.
“I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to him about it yet. It’s going to be pretty fun to get together with a teammate and someone who I’m comfortable with and friends with and play together for another four years.”
The Metro Atlanta resident plans on enrolling early at Alabama and will not take any other visits while turning his focus to his Walton squad that reached the GHSAA Class AAAAA state championship last season.
“Yes, I am going to enroll early. I’m working on the academic side right now and that’s ongoing, but right now I’m planning to enroll early. I’m not taking any other visits.
“We’re going to be doing a lot of workouts with the team- we’re all focused on the team now and just trying to get back to the state championship.”

Doesn't have to wait. Can go down and enroll whenever he'd like, but can't work out or practice with the team until January. Of course, he also has to pay his own way, which wouldn't be an issue for the Jones' - especially if it's just for one semester.

I could see us taking Beckwith if he commits summer/early fall. Tim Williams I think is LSU unless Miami gets a weak hit. Ill worry about Matthew Thomas then if that happens

True, but if he waits til January he would get a 5th year option while on the team. If he starts with a "full load" in September he would only have 4 years on the team.
