Bo Scarborough, a future five-star in the class of 2014 from Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., added scholarship offer No. 12 on Wednesday from another BCS program. He has a busy summer planned with trips to several schools. The elite prospect also has an early top four schools.

quote:

"I got an offer from Florida State yesterday,” said Bo Scarborough. "One of my coaches called me. He said they wanted to talk to me. They said I have offer from them. I spoke with coach Craig.

"It’s a big offer. They have plenty of top guys coming to their school. They are always one of the top teams in the nation. Whenever I get a chance I am going to try to go down there."

Scarborough will visit Alabama next Monday. He also plans to visit Florida and Michigan in June. These three schools hit the favorites list.

"I don’t really have a top five right now, but I do have four schools I like a lot," he said. "My favorites are Alabama, Florida, Michigan and Georgia. Alabama was my favorite, but I don’t really have an overall leader right now. I am keeping my options open."

Scarborough added a little more insight about these four programs.

Alabama: "I really don’t know right now where Alabama wants me to play. They have talked to me about receiver, tight end and running back. I really just want to play running back. I will see really where they want me next Monday."

Florida: "Florida moved to pro-style offense and that’s what we do. It wouldn’t be hard for me. I would be used to it. They run the split back. I like that."

Michigan: "They are recruiting me as an athlete. Sooner or later it will come down to most schools offering me as running back. I want to play running back."

Georgia: "They run the ball a lot. It could be a good school to go to."

The No. 1 prospect in the state Alabama in next year's class is not in any rush to make a decision.

The wide receiver, from Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., is gearing up for his first major camp of the summer. He has several scholarship offers including a couple he added Thursday afternoon. Cox is hoping to earn more this summer.

quote:

"I am going to Alabama camp on Sunday," said James Cox. "They just want me to come up there for the one day camp. I am excited. It’s a no-brainer.

"I talked to coach Nussmeier and coach Saban last week. They said I have gotten better. They are ready to see me. Hopefully I’ll do my best."

The Alabama offensive coordinator has shown a lot of interest in the local talented prospect in his short time as a member of the Crimson Tide coaching staff.

"Coach Nuss said he really likes me," Cox said. "He came to my spring game. He said during the process there are some guys they offer early and some they offer later. You just have to keep grinding.

"I love coach Nuss. He came in and has been there for me. He keeps it straight up. I think he will keep the tradition alive at Alabama.”

Offers continue to roll in for one of the state’s top receivers.

"Cincinnati and South Alabama just offered me,” said Cox. "I am real excited. It’s another opportunity and free education."

Cox will attend the Mississippi State team camp next Friday and will visit Florida State in two weeks.

Josh McNeil is one of the top prospects in America and has over 40 scholarship offers. On Thursday night, McNeil trimmed his list to five schools.

quote:

“Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, and Miami are my final five schools,” said Josh McNeil (6’5/240).
McNeil will visit Alabama this Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, he will head to Georgia. He will also visit the school that offered him tonight very soon.

“I just confirmed I will be taking a visit to LSU with Lewis Neal (6’2/235) when he goes on June 23,” he said.

Last season he had 60 receptions for over 600 yards and seven touchdowns. He is four-star prospect and Scout’s No. 4 tight end nationally.

Jake Thomas has been on the recruiting radar since his sophomore season at Columbus High School. Thomas has collected a trio of scholarship offers and received interest from several more schools. As the summer rolls in, five college programs are still jockeying for position.

quote:

Thomas missed time this spring with an injured foot. The talented offensive tackle is now on the mend.

"Things are going good," said Thomas. "I am about to start some weight training and some rehab, so I can start that uphill climb.

"I am still going to take some visits in June and I hope to be able to start participating in some camps in July.

"My main goal though is to be 100% for the season and I will be."

Mississippi State and Southern Miss were the first programs to offer Thomas, but another in state program has clarified their position.

"The new staff at Ole Miss has confirmed with me that I have an offer from them now," said Thomas. "I am planning on going up there for the camp and to talk to the coaches.

"I am going over there, to Mississippi State, Alabama and Stanford. I'm probably going to Southern Miss too."

The Crimson Tide and The Cardinal are both still in the evaluation process.

"Alabama wants me to come to camp and I feel like they will decide if they want to offer me after that," said Thomas. "I feel like Stanford is in the same situation.

"I think they want to see if I am committed to going out there and visiting the campus before they offer me."

As a product of the Golden Triangle, Thomas is the product of a house divided when it comes to college loyalties.

"My dad is a big Alabama fan and I am sure he would love for me to go and play there," explained Thomas. "He really just wants me to be happy, so he's going to he proud no matter where I go.

"My mom went the MUW, it's a school for women here, and then she went to (Mississippi) State for her graduate work.

"I am sure she wants me to stay close to home, but she's told me that she is going to support whatever decision I make."

There was some talk early on that Thomas may elect to make an early commitment. As the process moves forward, Thomas reports that is still not ready to make the call.

"I am really not sure when I am going to decide," said Thomas. "Some of the conversations I have with coaches have taken a more playful tone.

"They are asking me when I am going to commit, but nobody is pressuring me.

"I want to make my decision sometime after the season, but before January.

"Right now I would say the schools that I am most interested in are Alabama, (Mississippi) State and Stanford."

Parker McLeod will be at an SEC school in the coming days and he may then travel to a school in the Midwest a week later. Those two schools could be his final two with a decision looming.

quote:

Parker McLeod was offered by Oklahoma State early in the process and he picked up an offer from Alabama last week. Those are the two schools it could come down to.
"I do not have a leader, but my top are Oklahoma State and Alabama," McLeod said. "I am going to camp at Alabama either Sunday or Monday and I might be at Oklahoma State the week after that."

McLeod may not wait long to make a decision.

"I will probably choose Alabama or Oklahoma State by the end of June," the three-star signal caller out of Marietta (Ga.) Walton told Scout.
Stay tuned to Scout for the latest on this talented quarterback out of the Peach State.

Baseball game in Millport. It got rained out after the second inning due to Hurrincane/Tsunami/Tornado though. It's hard for me to join the chat at night with a wife and 3 children under the age of 7. I'll try to attend one when I have the chance.

And just a side note, there isn't shite in Millport, Alabama. Neither my wife nor I had any cell phone service whatsoever. Couldn't make or receive calls, couldn't send or receive texts, and I doubt that part of the state even knows what the Internet is.
