Hope nobody minds, but this is from WoolyAL:

Didn't see another thread on this so I'll share some of what I heard from Coach Saban last night in Florence.

First off it was nice to see a very full house. I think they said there were around 750 in attendance. It looked packed. No empty tables. Coach said a lot of good things about our spring and how he feels much better about this spring coming off a championship than he did coming off a championship in 09. He was very candid last night, mentioning that Deion Belue, who is local to the shoals area, will be starting this year. He mentioned that in 2014 we will be playing W. Virginia in our season opener in Atl. He said he didn't think it had been announced publicly yet but that it was happening. He had some good things to say about Phil Sims and his transfer, talking about Sims needing to be closer to home to deal with his fathers health problems. During the Q and A part he talked about negative recruiting in the SEC. He made some interesting comments about a McGill-Toolen player who has already been negatively recruited by other schools against bama. He also added at the end that he and Mrs Terry love Alabama and won't be leaving. He implied that he would end his career at bama. All in all it was a nice evening and if you have a chance to ever go to one of these things, make sure you do, you'll enjoy it.

Cool. We haven't played a Big 12 teams since Texas, correct?

It'll be fun going against that Holgorsen offense although we could be replacing our top 4 CBs that year.

And his top two are us and AU, so I wonder what Saban was trying to imply?

He wants to play QB. Probably being told the same old "Bama won't play a black QB" line

As promised:

Shane Morris 24/7 Profile

Junior Highlights

-Good size. Could add some weight to his lower body, especially given the way he throws his body around on running plays.
-Very good athlete. Looks a bit like Tebow running the spread option at Florida.
-As I said above, he definitely doesn't shy away from getting hit.
-His footwork needs coaching. He doesn't set his feet very well when he throws, even standing tall in the pocket.
-He throws well on the run, specifically across his body, which shows his arm strength.
-His mechanics are good, not great. His delivery is compact, but his follow through needs work.
-He has a very strong arm, but it would be scary if he would set his feet more and follow through. I'm talking Brett Favre scary.
-I don't know much about Michigan high school football so I can't speak to his competition, but he takes risks in the above video that will get him killed in college football.
-I noticed that he sometimes just threw the ball up for grabs instead of taking the sack or checking down. Coaching should curb this though.
-He throws a nice deep ball. Excellent air under the ball and right on target.
-I didn't see it personally, but I remember Trey saying he had some kind of emotional "breakdown" at the Dallas Combine where he started crying after not performing well. I understand that sometimes these kids are under tremendous stress, but it's only going to worse for him from this point on. It's not a big issue, but it's definitely something to take note of.

As a personal opinion, I don't really like lefty QBs. They usually don't have the best mechanics for whatever reason, but Morris would be an exception. I would love to have him, but I am perfectly content with Bateman.

Alabama lands top QB
Charles Power

Signing a top flight quarterback is of the utmost priorities for Alabama in the 2013 cycle.

The Tide now have their man with Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood signal caller Cooper Bateman, the nation's previously top uncommitted quarterback, pledging his commitment to Nick Saban on Wednesday morning.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder selected Alabama over a final five that included Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Washington. He previously visited the Capstone on April 2 as a part of a southern trip that also included LSU, Auburn, and Florida.

Bateman becomes Alabama's 12th commitment in the class of 2013 and sixth from outside the Yellowhammer State. Less than a week ago, he was invited to participate in the Elite11 finals to be held in Redondo Beach, California this summer.

The commitment is particularly big considering the transfer of former Alabama backup Phillip Sims to the University of Virginia earlier this month.

The Cottonwood high standout completed 168 of 308 pass attempts for 2,484 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior.

Bateman has a grade of 95 from 247Sports and is ranked as the nation's no. 4 pro-style quarterback and no. 48 prospect regardless of position.

Was thinking about him being the 1st from Utah, what are the odds that it's a QB and not some Samoan huge OL or nasty NG
