You can always get 2 QBs. One of them will probably end up being a "depth" kind of player though. It is very difficult to get 2 quality QBs in one class. Unless you are USC.

Troof Trey I'll put it this way, the staff wants 2 and feels good about landing 2, every other QB could shun Bama once Cooper joins the class, don't know, but they have their targets on 2

I believe that. They wanted two last year, it just didn't end up happening.

Agreed Alec Morris didn't care about signing 2 or competition, like this year Cooper Bateman is the same way

Be careful what you ask for with Robert Foster. Big time, superstar talent but also has that superstar, diva wr attitude with some baggage behind the scenes. Think Keenan Allen without the brother. Of course you never turn down a guy like Foster unless he brings violations with him but he could be more cancer than cure. Wouldn't be concerned about him hurting the team because Saban will send him packing in that case but more the fact that the scholarship can be better allocated.

People don't realize how many of those type guys Saban has had under his thumb at Bama because you didn't hear a single word, almost like he HAS to have his projects, the only one that went terribly wrong was Aaron Douglas (R.I.P.) couldn't save him, too late. A few I will mention are Rolando McClain, Dre Kirkpatrick, and now that both those are gone, the new project is Reggie Ragland and you won't hear a peep, I welcome Foster to Bama

I haven't been following much lately. Can someone give me a rundown of what's been going on?

Posted on FSU site, but he names Bama as the leader

quote:

Premium 5-Star Matthew Thomas Names Top 5
Josh Newberg

Keeping the focus on the football field is not always easy when you are one of the most highly recruited linebacker prospects in the nation. The constant stream of phone calls from coaches and reporters can be overbearing, but for Matthew Thomas of Booker T, finding a balance in all of this craziness is his only option.
“I have to stay focused, my coaches make sure of that,” said Thomas. “Everything is going good so far. I’m staying humble and focused on the goals that I set for myself.”
One of the ways Thomas has reined in the chaos is by only staying in contact with a select group of schools this offseason. He says this has allowed him to manage his time more efficiently.
“There isn’t enough time to talk to everyone. I’ve been talking mostly with Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and West Virginia.”
When asked who leads, Thomas was ready to give Noles247 his top 5, in order.
“I can say Alabama is my leader then Miami, Florida State, Florida and then Georgia.”
Throughout the offseason Thomas has cultivated a strong relationship with FSU coach James Coley, who has been recruiting the city of Miami for Florida State since arriving in Tallahassee in 2008.
“I think we get along so well because he’s from Miami,” Thomas said of James Coley. “He knows how we operate, how to relate to us and address the players from down here,”
“I like the FSU program and their defense. I definitely plan on learning more about them.”
Thomas plans on taking an official visit to FSU this fall, along with Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Miami. He says he’d also like to visit FSU, UF and Georgia this summer, but transportation to those schools will be the only thing holding him back from making the visits.
“Georgia is a school that I’ve been having interest in lately. I have a lot of family in Georgia and they’re telling me to come check it out.”
Thomas says Miami linebacker coach Michael Barrow is the one recruiting him the hardest.
“He’s kinda working double time. He talks to me a lot and he also talks to my coach Ice Harris all the time, so it’s like he’s working both ends.”
Don’t expect a decision anytime soon. Thomas won’t be making an announcement until Signing Day.
“I got time. There is no reason for me to rush anything. I want to take all my visits and then announce on Signing Day.”

That's false. There is no optimism coming from the AU side. The only optimism of late comes from that interview and the posts from those BOL guys. No AU insiders have even hinted us getting Foster

I really don't worry about character issue guys with Saban in charge. If they show up and frick around, they will be gone sooner rather than later.

Yeah, for a guy with inside info, Buc sure is throwing out a lot of spin against something that is unlikely to happen. Insecure much?

Plus, per Foster himself, Cam Luper and Blaise Taylor are his new best friends. I doubt Reuben is smart enough to troll Cam Luper, Blaise Taylor, the Auburn coaching staff, the Auburn fans, etc...into thinking he's interested in Auburn. like AMM AU has said, not one Auburn insider has hinter to Foster making a switch. Not many Auburn fans even expect him to flip. However, him going to AHS and becoming friends with the sons of Auburn coaches is pretty much the best thing that could've happened for Auburn.

Whussup buddy

Aubies are all excited thinking Reuben Foster will flip to AU after a vague interview he gave coupled with Troopah's son giving some staff false hope. The Bama staff was shellshocked to begin with when at the final hour he switched and turned in papers for Auburn HS instead of Oxford HS (literally last minute) and there is a rumor that AuHS was gonna hire Flowers, but of course he wasn't granted permission from Bama BOE to coach in the state and this whole thing was composed by AU staff to get him to AuHS, these are the rumors, he hasn't decommited or flipped yet

Yes false. You said that's where the AU optimism is coming form. There is no AU optimism. They've been recruiting Foster hard the whole time and will continue to do so whether they are optimistic or not

Bryan Matthews, Justin Hoke, and the guy from ITAT are pretty good. Don't let JLee cloud your judgement. He lost all ties to the University when he brought out all of that Brent Calloway stuff.

The kid is EXTREMELY impressionable how many times must I say this, he has become friends because he is a new student at the school (and I'm sure Blaise and Cam had some incentive from dads to make friends quick). Am I worried about losing him? Sure every Bama fan who follows recruiting should be based on what has happened recently, but if he goes to AU more power to him

I can't help that AUs insiders have their heads too far up their asses to realize what is going on but the optimism I'm speaking of is AU's staff, they now feel extremely optimistic about landing Foster
