Im sure Cochran can get him beefed up. He was injured at the beginning of the season so he is like 4 months or so out from injury.

I've seen clips, but nothing that long. He looked better offensively as the video went on, he was all clanky at first. He definitely could play on either side, but he looked more..."absolute?" defensively all the way through.

I can't really catch a legit vibe from him, I don't know if he's a Bama lock or thinking about making his own mark elsewhere...

We got a new JACK. Tim Williams says:

quote:

"I was really impressed with everything. Everything was real organized. I had not been there very long, and Coach Saban wanted to talk to me in his office. He told me that he had watched my film, and they thought I was a perfect fit to play the same position Courtney Upshaw plays. He said they like people at that position to be a playmaker, and I had what it takes. I watched a lot of Alabama games last fall, and really paid attention to their defense. They get after it every play.”

Junior Day Update from BOL

Logan Tuley-Tillman

quote:

“I really liked being down South, and especially in Tuscaloosa. I really liked the fans and how humbling and welcome they were. Everywhere you walked they were saying ‘Roll Tide’. I really liked being on campus too and I got to meet with Coach Saban,” noted Tuley-Tillman.

quote:

“We went in his office and he offered me a scholarship in front of my mom and my cousin. He said he liked what he saw of me on film when he watched it a couple of days ago and they have a big need at offensive tackle.”

quote:

“(Stoutland)’s a real great coach. He knows what he’s talking about and really breaks the game down. He gave us some pieces that you can use to succeed, so you really have to listen to him. I liked the whole experience down there. I didn’t know they were that high academically. That’s one thing that stood out for my mom that she liked.”

The visit placed Alabama in the top two for Tuley-Tillman alongside Michigan.

“They’re definitely in the top two- I really like what they have to offer down there. Michigan would be the other one. I’m probably going to take all five of my official visits.”

Kenneth Santa Marina

quote:

"I had an incredible time at Alabama. I was just in awe of the tradition and the fact that every time you turn around you see something about football. They take it seriously at Alabama,” said Santa Marina. “I really wasn't expecting anything to happen, but Coach Saban wanted to talk to me alone, and he told me that offensive line was a spot they really needed help at because they were going to graduate some guys next year. He said he would love for me to play for them and that he was offering me a scholarship. I was shocked to be honest. It is still all just sinking in that schools are offering me a chance at a free education to play football for them.

quote:

"All of the offensive linemen met as a group with Coach (Jeff) Stoutland. He told us the same thing Coach Saban said basically and that is they needed offensive linemen in a bad way for this class. He said you have to have a special commitment to play at Alabama to be the best in everything you do, and not just playing football but study habits, and all of the little things that make you succeed. Alabama is definitely a school that I am going to consider. It has pretty much everything you would want out of a college."

Walker Jones.
quote:

"I know some people probably think I took it for granted I would get an offer, but it was a huge sense of accomplishment for me to hear Coach Saban say they had a spot in the class for me,” noted the younger Jones. “I know my mom was very happy and obviously my brothers would like for me to come to Alabama. Barrett and Harrison both made their decision the right way and in their own time, and that is what I am going to do as well. I am hearing from a lot of schools, and I want to check everything out and make sure I make the right decision for me. Obviously, Alabama would be a great option. My brothers have loved their experience there, and Barrett has two rings and is working on his master's degree."

quote:

"Alabama likes me as a linebacker. I play running back in high school, and they talked a little about H-back but I don't think that is where I will wind up. I am more comfortable and natural playing defense. I am a little different style player than my brothers. Barrett is obviously bigger and a grinder, and Harrison is tall with great hands. I like to play downhill and use my athleticism to make plays."

Tim Williams

quote:

Baton Rouge (La.) Southern University Lab defensive end Tim Williams was another Pelican State standout to receive a tender from Alabama on Saturday. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder came away impressed with what he saw from the Crimson Tide, who like him at a 3-4 Jack linebacker spot.

They get after it every play.”

quote:

"My family and I followed LSU, and being from the state obviously it meant a lot to me to get an offer from them last weekend. Those are my only two offers, but my film is just getting out there. I transferred from Glenn Oaks to University and my film just hasn't been set out to all the coaches yet."

Most underrated prospect in the country heading into next year. After camping and more film comes out, he will shoot up everybody's list. I am glad we are on him early like we were Edinburgh who turned out to be a MaxPreps AA after starting out as a low 3*.

Kyle Bosch

quote:

“I saw everything down there that I liked from the weather to the people down there to the fans to the coaching staff,” Bosch recapped. “Everything down there was top of the line. I loved how the fans were so into it. How every business or house in town had Roll Tide painted on their business or home.

“I really liked how the strength coach had so much passion for what he did and it made a big difference in developing players and making them National Champions. I enjoyed meeting with him and meeting with Coach Stoutland and learning more about their program.”

quote:

“Coach Saban said I was one of their high-recruited guys and he was very excited about me and he’s excited to get me down for a game,” Bosch said. “He was just walking me through the day-to-day things their players go through and how their system works.”

Dejon Funderburk may be committing this week. Look for a Thursday announcement. He's a DB/WR from Pensacola.

Can you imagine Verne trying to say that? They'd have to bleep him out.
