Thinking I may take off work that day and buy a shite ton of champagne and pop a bottle each time a LOI is faxed in

That is a sweet idea, I'm gonna do that too now.

I just had a vision of myself sitting on the couch watching DGB sign, then I pop a bottle right as my lady walks in the door and the cork knocks her out.

My girlfriend loves champagne, prosecco, etc. I don't see how people can drink more than a glass. It's all way too damn sweet for me.

My wife's the same way. We always have to have a bottle of champagne in the house. I can't stand the stuff though. Way to sweet for me to have more than just a little bit.

about the only way i can stomach it is with some orange juice. At least it cuts down on the sweetness a little bit.

If the bubbly you're drinking is too sweet, avoid the Asti crap as well as prosecco. Try a drier style (brut).

That's actually what she is drinking now. Our everyday champagne we keep in the house is Silver Cap Blanc de Blancs Brut. Still way to sweet/fruity for me.

Never tried Silver Cap, so that might be a sweeter bubbly.

The wife likes bubbly so we normally get a couple bottles of inexpensive cava. Usually Jaume Serra Cristalino brut. It's pretty dry.

I'm just glad I finally have a big boy job as opposed to a restaurant job so I can listen to the radio/live on this thread all day. Though the restaurant I worked at catered the Hogs (all sports) so I lost my "sources" when I moved on

My wife's mom is a big cava fan. She always has some at her house. I may have to see if I can find that around here and give it a try.
