I think there was a requirement at that hotdog eating contest that you had to have a beard and black-rimmed glasses.

It was a hipster-heavy event. The prelims or sign up or whatev was at JRs so it makes sense.

It was a fun day. And yeah, they need to allow open containers. Rope off the street if need be. They did have a Beer Garden in the street, so maybe they will just make it bigger this year.

Its supposed to be bigger and better this year with more stuff happening up on the Square.

Last year's event was pretty good, especially since it was thrown together in a couple of months.

Where are u guys getting Gardner is gone from?

Uve gotta realize these people on hogville, RT, and what not are only talking to kids. They have no idea if the staff has accepted a commit or not.

I think the only person on HV that had an in to the staff is no longer posting, and that was Clint.

I remember this happening a year or so back. A kid said he committed and nobody reported it besides a message board. After that, u never heard anything about it. U really have to be careful about what you take as fact from those places. And some people/posters over there pry a little too much IMO

It all has to do with expecting the worst I think. Bo had a really interesting guest on yesterday talking about risk vs. reward in football. Anyone else hear that? Anyway,

People see that a receiver committed and they think 'frick, that must mean another receiver isn't coming here.'

It's not really a logical conclusion to jump to, seeing as we have an immediate need for receivers and we will take many in this class.

That's a pretty picture of Fayetteville. That is a gorgeous area of the Ozarks. The people in the picture are ugly, with exception to the dark haired girl with sunglasses. Is that normal? One hottie out of several hundred people? Still looks fun, though.

As for hippies, Fayetteville has nothing on Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Those people are fo real! Although, Chelsea's is a very cool bar! Great live music.

I won't comment on the guys...not my thing. But seriously? There are like 4 women in that picture you can see very well at all. Believe me, the one you pointed out wouldn't register in terms of "hotness."

What's MORE telling is that you think she's hot. You should get out of Missouri more.

People need to realize that if we DO accept his committment It could mean nothing with the WR's committed. We still had a couple changed position from last years class, and another maybe leaving the team.

When you compare her to the rest of the crowd, she stands out. I agree, normally she'd be a 6. But in that picture she's elevated to a 9 simply because of the ugliness surrounding her...

This is a perfect example of why average to above average girls have ugly friends. Ugly friends make them look hotter.

Central Fayetteville is a lot like Eureka, and there's a lot of cross-cultural pollination with the music and arts in both. Eureka is only 1 hr from Fayetteville.

Mount Sequoyah and downtown are hippie heaven. Look closely in that pic and you'll see that the trees are wearing sweaters. Yes, the hippies knitted sweaters for the trees on Block Avenue.

That is so bizarre it's awesome!

Fayetteville isn't a typical SEC town. It has more in common with Boulder than it does Oxford, IMO.

And that street party was on Block Avenue, not Dickson. It wasn't mostly college. That was a townie festival.

So, there is definitely a rift between the college and the townies?

Fayetteville and Athens are 1 and 1a for most hippy SEC town. Athens has more because its bigger but per capita Fayettechill is right there with it.

Gotta love the hippies. Hey, chicks don't wear bras! But, they have hairly legs and armpits.

You take the good and the bad...

There's not really a rift, per se. Arkansas as a big enough student body that there's a diverse crowd that blends in with the city.

Dickson Street is dominated by the college crowd. Block Ave and the Square are more townie, and that festival wasn't collegiate in nature.

I'm sure there were a lot of college kids there, but the sum of it was majority townie. And townie in Fayetteville trends hippie.

As an example of that lifestyle, this is Fayetteville's natural food Co-Op. It started as a small band of granola hippies in a small storefront down on Dickson, and now its a full-fledged natural and whole foods grocery store. All locally owned by shareholders, with monthly meetings, etc. Its comparable to a small Whole Foods, only less deli and more bulk organics, etc.

Fayetteville is filled with Hippies. However i've noticed a lot of them actually have taken care of their hygiene issue. So as long as they don't start their little hippie rants at me they're cool with me. With that being said i'm kinda hoping i'll be able to become a townie when I graduate. Seems like this is a great place to live. I enjoy the summers when it isn't so crowded.

Eureka must be the hippies that Fayetteville banished due to bad hygiene because some of those girls are in fact missing teeth and have hairy legs and armpits. However, I still love that place because it's so damn weird.

I see Fayetteville being a lot like Springfield, except Springtown doesn't have as many hippies. I compare the two in the sense that it's actually a very nice place to live. Sure, we have the northside, which unfortunately is what I-44 passes through, but it's very nice the further south you go. Came to Springfield to attend Missouri State University. After I graduated, I decided it was the place for me.

Summers are great. Lots of laking, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, etc. And yes, we have some very screwy people on the rivers from early Spring to early Fall, but that's what so fun about floating in SW Missouri. I've seen some crazy fricks on the Buffalo, but I have to admit that the Spring River in Arkansas is hella awesome.

Orjioke said an in-home visit from defensive coordinator Paul Haynes will help decide his college destination.
