who is Americus?

AmericusDawg. A Georgia poster who also has his own web site. he has connections and gets information and makes predictions based upon what he hears. He is right at a very high degree.

That said, he typically will not make a prediction if he knows a recruit wants his choice to remain quiet. he's good guy...doesn't consider himself an insider and doesn't necessarily do it for the attention, although he gets it because he is usually correct.

At this rate, your entire 2-deep on the OL will be 5* and Neal would be on the bench for 2-3 years,

Not really. we expect Thomas and possibly Wilson to go pro early after next season, so he would have an opportunity to fight for a starting spot in 2020.

I mean, Alabama has Jedrick Wills coming back at one tackle position with Alex Leatherwood and Pierce Quick and Amari Kight committed this year. If we go back a year or two, I would be willing to bet Alabama has 2-3 more OT's sitting behind those guys.

Not to mention that Neal and Sanders weren't realistic options for UGA and then one visit right before ESD just happened to magically changed everything.

We've been recruiting them all along. But when we lost Emery we turned up the heat on Sanders, then we felt Holyfield and Herrien would leave/transfer and Zamir White is coming off two ACL injuries anon different knees.

You seem to be under the impression that we haven't been talking to these guys until a week ago.

Disagree. He has a grand opportunity to start in year 2. Thomas and Wilson could easily go pro next year, and both tackle spots are open unless Mays moves to tackle which is definitely plausible.

I said I see Neal going to Bama, but the Nolan Smith recruiting machine has been at work for a while.

They frown on us giving it out on this site, since it is technically in direct competition. I'd like to help you, but I don't think I want to be banned.

Maybe a braver Georgia poster will spell it out for you.

I would be shocked if this doesn't happen. And possible Cleveland moved to the other spot, but who knows. One thing he has right is we are loaded along the OLine right now. But, there is definitely room for Neal if he wants to come. I hope he does, but like you, I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah. Me too. So his picks are not so "out of left field", yet, there is a lot of speculation with Sanders and Dean, so it would still be impressive if he is right.

Dude. Ole Miss never recruited at any kind of level. We have always recruited around 7-10 in the country.

Alabama had 7 straight #1 classes!

I know you're familiar with OL technique, moreso than I am, but I just think Mays is such a good guard. He mauls people going forward and has been fantastic on the inside. I'm just not sure if he's quick enough to avoid holding penalties at the tackle position that he's struggled with so far.

I do know some, and I agree. Mays is a great Guard.

This is an excellent point. He had troubles in high school because of this, so it might be better to keep him inside.

You make excellent points.

ETA
I should also say, that blocking techniques and rules have changed drastically since I played. I have kept up with it a little but not totally. I respect your knowledge and insight.
