Why only 14 commitments?
What's the deal with this? Anyone know why Clemson failed to field a better class after having played for two consecutive National Titles?

Dabo recruited them all to Bama.

It was about available spots. Look at the quality though. 2 5 stars 9 4 stars all at positions of need, etc...

Can only get 14 to fit the 85 limit. Not too many srs and Jr's left

How does Bama sign 25 plus every year?

Do you not follow Bama football?

You can do better than that. Hell, Rooster could even do better than this.

According to Tigernet, they are maxed out with those 14 recruits. They have an absolutely massive junior class
That's a nice breakdown they did there. Looks like adding 14 gives them 84. So right now they have room for one more or can give a walk-on a scholarship for a year.
I still feel like staying at 14 is going to result in them being under the 85 and feel like they should have signed a few more. With natural attrition, qualification issues, etc it actually seems prudent to go a couple over the limit with a class this small.

I find this absolutely unbelievable. They had 4 Juniors declare early for the NFL Draft. Would they have otherwise signed just 10 kids?
It shows they signed 21 in 2014... 26 in 2015... and 21 in 2016. That looks pretty normal. I've never seen a Top 25 program sign this few kids in a class.
If you go back and look at all the Top 25 classes signed since 2010, there have been a total of 175 Top 25 classes and only 14 of those consisted of fewer than 20 kids.
Six of those consisted of 19 signees
Four of those consisted of 18 signees
Two of those consisted of 17 signees
Only two consisted of fewer than 17: 2015 Texas (with 15 kids) and the 2013 USC class (with 12 kids) that faced serious scholarship losses.
This class of 14 kids for Clemson is the fewest kids to be signed into a Top 25 class since at least 2010, not counting teams on probation. I just find this unreal considering Clemson had 4 juniors declare for the Draft.
Dabo is going to have to get better at managing his roster if he ever wants to coach at Bama.

Part of it is trying to save spots for the impressive in-state talent next year. There is a serious uptick in South Carolina talent next year, and we're looking good for a lot of it, regardless of what our little feathered friends think.
When McKinney unexpectedly went with y'all, it looks like the coaches just decided to bag that scholarship for next year.
