Yes, everyone loved Mett. He was not perfect, but he had heart and was a gunslinger. He had the respect of his teammates and the fans. Even when he made mistakes, we knew that he was out there laying it all on the line for his team. I wish that we would have had a better defense last year and better offensive coaching his first year. The pieces just were not there, but I always felt we were in the game with him as QB. He went 19-6 as a starter, which is not stellar, but there were other problems.

As for his dudeness, yes, he is a dude and always has been. A very likeable guy, in my opinion.

Not really. He had a cannon for a arm but was inconsistant many times, which drove the fan base nuts.Good leader but not at all mobile.This will catch up with him soon in the pros as well

Wasn't sure about his mettle until he stared down Clowney and South Carolina and stood in the pocket getting drilled. The Bama game he was a warrior two years in a row.

One of my favorite players at LSU.

Met sure throws a nice ball. Just think how good he could have been had he been under Les for 4 years.
