Through my Orange and Navy glasses I could see us getting to 10 regular season wins, but I can also see 9 wins, or even 8 if things don't go our way.
~Clemson - I am honestly not that worried about this game. Football is won in the trenches, and our defensive line will be a force to be reckoned with, compared to Clemson's young and inexperienced offensive line. What a lot of people tend to forget about last year's Clemson game was that we were up by two or three scores early before "3rd and Roof" kicked in, and something happened to Barrett Trotter sometime before the half that he really didn't get over until the bowl game. Watkins won't have time to be much of a factor due to Tahj Boyd being on his back the whole game. Auburn rolls, 31 - 17.
1- 0
@Mississippi State - These teams have had some close games as of late, and even though I think a lot of those reasons why are no longer with the team, this one is in Starkville. State jumps out to an early lead, but another year of poor coaching decisions allow us to fight back and win in overtime. The Cardiac Cats win again, 24-21.
2 - 0
Louisiana-Monroe - No sweat as we look ahead to the bigger, badder team from Louisiana. 52-10, bring on the Bayou Bengals.
3 - 0
LSU - A lot of LSU fans are blowing this game off due to the dumpster fire that we put on the field last year, but this is a different time and different place. Clint Moseley isn't making his first SEC start in arguably the most hostile environment in the country, Ted Roof isn't shackling our defense, and our offensive line isn't full of kids with less than 30 total starts between them. That being said, this is still looking to be one of the best teams in the nation again, and I don't think we'll be able to have much long-term success running the football against them. Unless Mason or Grant has really stepped their game up by now and pulled away from the pack, our offense starts sputtering by the middle of the 3rd quarter. Frazier has some growing pains, and LSU wins 27-17.
3 - 1
Arkansas - I've said it before and I'll say it again: You don't lose Bobby Petrino and not skip a beat on offense. We know all about that. As long as Kiehl is a serviceable quarterback, we'll stay in it this year. It'll be high-scoring by SEC standards, but home field advantage and line of scrimmage domination take their toll on the Razorbacks by the 4th quarter. Jordan-Hare is rocking while Auburn wins, 42-35
4 - 1
@Ole Miss - I think Ole Miss will surprise some people this year, and maybe even end up with an Egg Bowl win, but I have a hard time believing that they'll be playing anywhere close to our level this year. Wallace and Pike will be getting some reps in the second half while Auburn wins big, 49-17.
5 - 1
@Vanderbilt - This is a team that has given us fits in recent (and not so recent) years, and they're playing arguably their best football in decades. However, the ol' Riverboat Gambler isn't here to fall asleep at the wheel again, and Chizik will have this team focused and ready. Auburn wins a glorified home game, 38-10
6 - 1
Texas A&M - This will be Texas A&M's first big road game, in a much better conference, with an entirely new coaching staff and new quarterback. That being said, this is still a very talented team and Sumlin knows what he is doing. They put us on upset alert early, but defensive depth shows and we pull out a win. Auburn's 12th Man shows the cowboys how it's done, 23-17
7-1
New Mexico State - The game against the second Aggies in two weeks ends the same way as the first. Auburn wins an effective bye week, 42 - 3[
8 - 1
Georgia - GameDay comes to the Plains for the 116th meeting of the South's Oldest Rivalry. Georgia will be looking to lock up the East for the second straight year, while we plan on avenging last year's embarrassment between the hedges. What might end up being a match-up of top ten teams doesn't disappoint, but Georgia's thin depth and questionable coaching starts to show. Auburn keeps the Dawgs out of Atlanta in a thriller, 21-19
9 - 1
Alabama A&M - Payout game for the Bulldogs. Frazier doesn't even last a half. The real A&M college of Alabama wins in a PPV snore-fest, 55 - 6
10 - 1
@Alabama - I think Alabama's too much hype, and I expect them to drop LSU and either UT or Arkansas. However, Saban will have the team fired up for a redemption game that will end up deciding second place in the West. Even though Alabama's more talented right now, and they're got the benefit of home field advantage, this won't be an absolute blowout like last year, because by now Auburn is clicking and playing some dang good football. But in the end, Chizik drops to 1-3 against the Crimson Tide in a defensive slugfest, 17-14.
10 - 2
Auburn ends 2012 with a ten win season, good for 4th in the SEC and a Cotton Bowl birth. It's a solid turn around for a new coaching staff, and Van Gorder on the sidelines makes all the difference in the world. We win our bowl game playing sound SEC football, giving us an 11-2 season that breaks us back into the top ten and sets up for a title run in 2013.
Another year of SEC dominance comes to an end with LSU, Bama, USC, and Auburn in the top ten. Order is restored.

I would be happy with a season like that.

Because this year's schedule was a "temporary" fix for the expansion, and 2013's schedule will be a completely fresh slate in terms of home-and-home arrangements, I wouldn't be surprised if A&M didn't host Auburn until 2014.

I think the only given loss is to LSU this year. They might be the only team to ever lose a long time starting quarterback and be 2 touchdowns better on offense.
Toss up/losses will be Alabama and UGA. Bama is better than we are at this point but it is the Iron Bowl and anything can happen. UGA is probably still a little better than us and Richt has owned us.
Toss up/wins are Clemson and Arkansas. Arkansas's strength was playcalling, not personnel. While they might still be good, it would shock me if they finish third in the West. Clemson is going to be a good game either way and if Watkins is gone for at least half, that gives us time to get up on them.
MSU is still MSU and we will beat them by about 7 to 10 points.
A&M will realize the week in and week out of the SEC is more brutal than that of the Big 12 and will just be beat up by the time we play. Florida, LSU and Arkansas will take a toll on them.
Ole Miss is still way behind in personnel and probably too much to overcome. It wouldn't shock me if they finish without a SEC win again.
Vandy is a trap game and I hope Auburn is ready.
Three throw away games.
I think we end up with 9 wins regular season if the offensive line gels early. I think our defense will be much better out of the gate. CVG might not have the exact players he wants, but with Martinez coaching the secondary, a year older defensive line and some talent in the linebacker corp, we will be around 6th in the SEC for defense.

I agree, none of us really know what to expect. If we don't end up utilizing a good stable of backs and a very good O line with a first year QB though a lot of people will be pissed.

Why in the world did we let them in the SEC?
No offense to A&M but this is a legit question about them and Missouri. I don't think of Missouri and Texas as Southeastern at all. I know there were politics involved but GT and Clemson would have been great grabs.

Random note, but my dad got a chance to sit down and talk to Coach Thig, and he said he believes we have the two best Ends in the country. Said he believes if they stay healthy, they've got the chance to be something real special this year.
