Exactly. You never see Texas and Oklahoma fans criticizing each other or showing any negativity. The fanbases actually love one another and slavish praise on each other so thickly it makes everyone want to puke.
These silly bastards don't even know what a rivalry is. Imagine a Texas fan telling a Georgia fan to show support for Florida or auburn and thinking they understand that type of rivalry.

I hate Tennessee, but the fact that the SEC only got 3 teams in this playoff is a slap in the face to every member of this conference. I understand that everyone minus Alabama fans are content with the way things worked out because Bama would’ve been the 4th team in, but realistically the SEC should have 6 teams in.
For these reasons, I’m rooting for every SEC team to not only win, but flat out embarrass every opponent they face.

I can't blame them for that, we've stomped every one of their asses for a very long time. But still, for our benefit, we need the SEC to stomp arse in the playoffs. It's one more thing to point to each December when the committee is meeting and discussing who gets in. It doesn't mean I fricking LIKE pulling for them, it just makes sense to do so.

It's generational and passed down from great-granfather to grand-father to father to son, and on and on. It never ends and never subsides, not matter the quality of either team at any particular time.
Beating Tennessee or them beating us 5 or 10 or 15 years in a row doesn't diminish the rivalry in any way. It just makes it more fun when either side can almost literally dance on the graves of the other fans.
It's a pure and clean hate that lasts and endures and needs very little fuel to reignite.
To Texas fans, a rivalry is a once a year thing where you hang out at the fairgrounds before the game and tailgate with other and wish each other the best of times when departing.
That's gay and that's not how rivalry's operate in the South.
