Robinson had done a lot of investigative work on Lyles prior to the interview.
I recall a Tweet from him in March about Lyles. I think it's even linked in this thread towards the beginnig of it.

You can down play it all you want, but if it comes out that any Newton got paid even a dime to play anywhere, the story rates as a 10.
It would verify what most folks in this nation (outside of AU) have thought for almost 8 months.
