I think you are going to see changes in our offense...Sumlin recognizes the shortcomings of not being able to line up and run the ball when necessary. Maybe I'm wrong but if he doesn't adapt he'll be gone before Chavis' contract is up.

The commitment to running the ball seems to be real. We just hired Dave Christensen to be the running game coordinator. I doubt that means we're all of a sudden going to switch to a power I, hut I do expect him to coach run blocking at least...

All I see are Aggies celebrating before anything is accomplished there... But then, thats the norm... Then bam... Congrats on getting a great defensive coach... And he is a great one, no doubt. But just beware, Tennessee said it and it happened with his defenses at LSU... The third and Chavis is real and it aggrevated the shite out of me... I ALWAYS dreaded teams having the ball last with a chance to win... Just like yesterday... I liked chief but at the same time aggrevated... Personally, I don't think it's a bad thing to get new blood into a program... Good luck and congrats...

3rd and Chavis is now located in College Station! I must say I was like the Aggies when we first hired him, but now I am like y'all were when it happened. They will see for themselves. It really does exist

LOL at all the LSU fans who have been in denial about this for years, now suddenly want to act like they're believers now that Chief has spurned them for the Ags.

And for the Ags who refuse to believe, three words: Major fricking Applewhite.

We just got the guy that is not only well respected in general but knows better than anyone else how to stop our offense and has been a driving force in four recent, important losses. Also, Chavis has been sitting square in the middle of our next door neighbor and final opponent of each season's house. This hire is stellar on a number of fronts.

Congrats. He's also been the driving force behind some pretty important losses...to Alabama.

This might be significant if Chavis was known for being an energetic recruiter. He isn't.

You're right. Snyder would have done SO much better. We're screwed.

I don't see why some of you guys are so obsessed over getting a "big name" DC. Congrats Ags on landing Chavis. He makes you stronger and likely weakens one of your biggest rivals. This was a GREAT move. But I have no doubt that Miles will be able to hire a quality coach to run his D

Robb Smith was thought by the Rant and the majority of the Hog fans I know to have been a huge whiff by Bert last yr.

Turns out, Smith is an outstanding coach who has done wonders for our program.

LSU can do the same

Chavis immediately makes your defense better...but so would almost anyone. The value to the rest of the West is that, although Chavis isn't as great as some would like to believe, there's always the possibility that the next guy in Baton Rouge will be worse.
