As a young kid, he was so sickened by O'sullivan's mistreatment of the associate AD and grounds crew, he decided to find a new role model.

Augie ain't batting.

If it's the starting pitcher, he's already tired in the 6th inning. If it's a relief guy, he's not going to be tired at all.

ball is coming down the middle, everybody knows it, I bet if you asked Mike Leach he'd say "Hell yes, swing away"

Enough to know when you are down 5 in the back half of the game, with runners on 1st and 3rd, and no outs, you take and give your team a chance at a huge inning. Huge innings almost always have one thing in common, walks or errors or both. You dont hit your way back into a game when you are down 5 with 9 or 12 outs left.

So you never heard of swinging at good pitches?

Because the 3-0 pitch is going to be a great pitch

Pitch count is out the door in inning 6

Sometimes coaches were great pitchers and/or fielders when they played...

But they couldn't hit for shite

Hitters know when to swing - coaches who used to be pitches might not
